I really like Daniel Hannan, he almost always speaks a whole lot of sense.

Jeremy Paxman is totally at fault here. He's a feckless panderer and should have stood up and removed that fascist caveman Oborne from the soundstage immediately. This shames the BBC.

Re: 'That idiot in Brussels': BBC forced to apologise for interview 'ambush'

Whichever way you look at it, repeatedly referring to someone as "that idiot from Brussels" on a live TV show of a reputed channel is just not done. If you think he was spouting meaningless inanities, tell him so. Refute what he is saying in a civilised manner. Thankfully, the other guy didn't stoop down to Oborne's level and retaliate. He just quietly left the show.

I have lived here over 22 years and have NEVER been outside Switzerland for shopping of any kind.

Were the British population given a referendum on EU membership, the UK would be out of that socialist dream without further moaning. The EU is rapidly reaching the buffers as the German generation who feel the guilt of the World War II fade away.

You support for the corrupt EU is admirable, but sadly misplaced. But I find your anti-British rants funny. Keep it up...

Here's the TV programme on youtube:

Ahahaha...if the EU is corrupt, what should we say about the UK? Do you want to talk about how your MPs ask for reimbursement for expenses to renovate their houses? Or how your city councils waste enormous amounts of moneys? But please, leave the EU, start your "British dream" of wealth and transparency...
Oh, I almost forgot...the "News of the World" scandal, which involved UK politicians and public officials...it's obviously the EU's fault...if it wasn't for the EU, your politicians would have been a lot more transparent and honest...ahahahah.
We can also talk about the REAL corruption sponsored by Switzerland...but I doubt that there is anyone in this forum that has the intellectual honesty of going further this road...

Also, the cretins that say that "The EU is a dictatorship"...I would ship them to North Korea or to China, they would see how a dictatorship really looks like. Spoiled idiots...have a bit of respect for people who really live in dictatorships , and risk their life to fight their government!

Usually the McCarthyists who complain about "socialism" and see "socialists" everywhere, are the same that call for public bailout of banks...("Bailout us! Bailout us NOW! We are too good, too important, we create jobs jobs jobs")

Also, keep labeling everyone who doesn't agree with your views a "troll"...very convenient.

When I cross the border from Switzerland I don't end up in the EU, but I end up in Germany, Italy, France or Austria. These are still four (very) different countries with different cultures, different atmospheres, different languages, different restaurants, different foods, different goods in stores and supermarkets, etc. despite the wet dreams of the globalists and the Eurocrats of turning them into an EU superstate run by unelected bureaucrats.

And guess what? I enjoy spending time, eating out and shopping in each single one of those countries. I actually love Germany, Italy, France and Austria yet I despise the EU in its current form. So you're telling me I shouldn't visit or shop in countries I like just because I don't like the EU?
What should I say about "ex-pats" (immigrants) moving out of the UK and the US, to Switzerland, Singapore, Dubai, etc...and pretending everyone to speak English to them, complain about the lack of British and American food, how things are different from home, etc...? Isn't this also "globalism", lack of respect for diversities, pretending everything to be the same everywhere?

I don't know about you....but what about the many "ex-pats" (immigrants) loving REAL dictatorships like Singapore (a de-facto dictatorship) and Dubai (a 3rd world country with the facade of a 1st world one...no democracy, slavery against working-class foreigners from the rest of Asia...yeah, a paradise), and then complaining about the supposed "EU dictatorship" (which exists only in their troubled minds)? Or the ones complaining about the non-existent "EU corruption", but supporting a money-laundering machine like Switzerland?

Ahahahah...keep believing in your double standards...

Look sonny, these are YOUR own unsubstantiated subjective opinions. Why are they any more worthy than anyone else's?

There are many valid opinions on this thread - read them. You might learn something. Or are you not that open minded..?
