Would you prefer that we don't slaughter them, and just hack off pieces as needed?

How about leaving them alone and in peace instead of pieces?

Because they taste too good!

Tom

P.S. If God didn't want man to eat animals, why did he make them taste like meat?

On the general provocation trend, perhaps our descendents will be amazed that we don't realize that plants have emotions and feelings

I don't believe in God but as you do I will feed you to some animal and try to get an answer from them about why your God made you taste like meat too

Plucking fruits or vegetables does not have to result in death of plant. As you are so concerned why not make a start by not killing your fellow mammals?

I think we will remain carnivors in the future..They might think twice before BBQ the meat and smoking it, since it is not so healthy. I think descendents will be health nuts and germ freaks more than us. Oder?

Tell that to carrots (and other root vegetables), lettuce, cabbage, etc.!

So if I give up root vegetables (even though they lack central nervous system and are not mammals) would you give up your steak? I thought not.

Do you have any last wishes before I drag you to Zurich Zoo? I hear they just got a rescued man eating Bengal Tiger I hope you are not skinny!

Almost thanked this post, for the pic, until you got on to no barbecuing of meat!! :eek!:

Barbecuing meat is perfectly healthy, all the bad stuff drips off or runs away, unlike in a frypan where it's all trapped in there, and the meat is just soaking in its rich, meaty juices ... mmm, better go heat up that frypan now!

Actually, something that will really stun people in the future (actually, it stuns me now!) - the idea that this stuff was considered edible:

I'll give up meat when you explain to the tiger that he shouldn't eat meat "because meat is murder.' Humans are omnivores. That means we eat meat AND potatoes.

I am picking up st2lemans in 30minutes to drop him off at Zurich zoo. I will do my best to pass your message to the Bengal Tiger

Fixed that for you. Aren't we supposedly more evolved than animals and have intellect to make ethical choices? Either way eat what you want, it's not like I can stop anyone. I just like winding up meat eaters.

What on earth does eating meat have to do with ethical choices OR intelligence? My issue is people shoving their opinions down my throat. Remember opinions are like penises. Half the world's population has them. I am one of those. How would you appreciate me shoving my "opinion" down your throat? I'm not trying to make you eat meat. I'm just trying to enjoy my tender, succulent, rare piece of cow flesh (and a couple veggies).
