How long till we hear this in Switzerland?

By the way, she's been arrested for that.

She's not exactly her Majesty's most prized subject that's for sure. I'd say she is quite possibly mentally disturbed and that therefore what is possibly more sad and relevant is the onlookers (a man and a woman who are standing near the woman) who remained resolutely glued to their wireless devices thumbs tap-tapping away regardless - I wonder just how many others will remain so self-absorbed once times, in terms of civil disobedience and unrest, become truly challenging.

Re: How long till we hear this in Switzerland?

She's either drunk, or disturbed. Or both.

I saw this on the BBC website earlier.

It's sad that this is what UK is in the news for today. That and industrial action.

I'm English and proud to say that she does not represent my views.

Re: How long till we hear this in Switzerland?

That's really outrageous, the frustrating thing is that she'll probably end up trying to influence her young child too.

I hope not anyway..

Do I see this happening in Switzerland?
No, not really. But what's to say it can't, there are racists in every country sadly.

Ma_Anne has no particular reputation at present
Re: How long till we hear this in Switzerland?

I had the same experience when I was in a London bus... The guy was cursing and shouting coz I am in his "country" and "coz I is brown"

But I think he was loopy or drunk so I ignored him.

'Lady' and 'audacity' are not really the words that come to mind.

I feel so very sorry for the child- the fact his face does not react at all seems to indicate he is used to such behaviour. So sad.

Re: How long till we hear this in Switzerland?

you were in his country? Since when do individuals have their countries. I guess that man had a sudden realization that there are black/brown people everywhere. I'm of brown complexion I'm so glad nothing of nature has ever happened to directly to me. I think I would go apeshit if someone makes a remark about my skin complexion.

Yeah. Sorry about that. My Mrs had been drinking a lot that morning...

Are we talking the lady who answered back? She's clearly not British. The ones tapping away on their iphones/computers etc - they were British

As far as I can tell, there's been no arrest on the page you linked.

Re: How long till we hear this in Switzerland?

look's like it's going viral now. pageviews and comments are going crazy.

to be honest, we'll see a lot more of this kind of attitude as the economy worsens and immigrants become a useful political scapegoat.

at least the woman is being honest and speaking her position. i'd prefer that to some serpent tongued politicians or laws brought about which obliquely discriminate.

Re: How long till we hear this in Switzerland?

Very difficult to say exactly - but the woman who answered back is British, she says so. So seems to be the woman who calms down the young chap behind the 'offender' - and well done to them for speaking out. BRAVO> The woman on her mobile looks more Ukrainian, or Polish perhaps.

Re: How long till we hear this in Switzerland?

Just curious...

Even though I found her completely batty and I was disturbed by her liberal use of the F bomb while holding a young child and screaming blatantly racist slurs to the entire tram...

...but what was she arrested for??? What crime is she charged with?

Matters little how much we dislike it or how unpopular it makes her, but doesn't she have a right to speak her mind, however wrong we think it is?

London Transport Police reported they have arrested the woman in question and also pointed out that this kind of incident is extremely rare.
