| | Deutsche Bank orders eviction of 103 yr. old woman!
Of course the following story doesn't include the details of how this all came about but at the moment I'm finding it difficult to put two words (bankers & compassionate) in the same sentence.. Movers, deputies refuse to evict 103-year-old woman ATLANTA, Ga. — A 103-year-old woman and her 83-year-old daughter were just moments from being evicted from their home Tuesday, when sheriff's deputies and the moving company hired by the bank decided not to go through with the action.

Chase bank is behind it all......I am from California and I banked with a small bank called Washington Mutual for years. Chase bought them out a year or so ago. I never had any hidden fees or problem with WaMu but as soon as Chase took over, bam! Fee's all over the place, so I dropped them. Before I left California (which was 2 weeks ago) I sold a table to my friend who wrote me a check out of her Chase checking account. I went into Chase bank to cash the check and they told me they were going to charge me a $6 fee to cash the check because I was not an account holder. The darn check was theirs! So the bottom line is Chase should be boycotted by all!!!! I believe that this sweet little 103 yr old lady tried to pay them and they wouldn't accept her payment. They are evil!
Sorry for ranting and raving hereb but I had to respond as soon as I saw who was behind it all......thanks for sharing the story!

Poor old dear. I'm sure she'll receive her call up papers for Kindergarten again next week, just to top off a great week.
Maybe she has a cat called "Lucky"?

Doesn't it seem like there's something missing in this story? Yeah, the article focuses on the human-interest-fluff angle, great-granny doesn't want to get kicked out of her home, but the article states that the family has enough money but that Chase won't accept payment. When have you ever known a banker to turn down money?
The reporters ought to do a bit of follow-up rather than just tugging on heartstrings.

| | | | | Chase has an absolutely abysmal record with outright wrong foreclosures. Even foreclosing on homes that are paid in full . Or breaking U.S. law that states that banks cannot foreclose on homes of active duty military, which they have done many times. I do recall reading about a fellow who was trying to make a final payment and couldn't get them to take it last year sometime. Chase is really a mess.

As rotten as they come.
