Another flight nightmare

This time directly from the Captain

Quote:
The captain of a US airliner was tackled by his own passengers after he ran up and down a packed jet screaming about bombs and al Qaeda.

Re: Another flight nightmare

It's hard to say without knowing what in fact happened. No one wants to see an erratic captain, and in these times it's just best to take control of the situation, and ask those questions safely on the ground.

But if there was a heated political argument in the cockpit, and opinions varied, just because the co-pilot locked him out, doesn't mean anything else. Until there are more details it's hard to accuse the pilot of anything more.

It's good the passengers put him into a holding position. It's in no one's interests to be on a flight, with ANYONE acting like they could try to take it down.

Re: Another flight nightmare

Crazy stuff

Unfortuately many pilots in the USA do not make a decent salary they do it because they love it and thats what they are trained in. When I say decent salary I am talking less than 30K a year. I have heard 18K. The thing is flights that are interstate can be outsourced to a company that doesnt have to follow all the laws that the big companies. Frontline did a pretty good report on it.
