US Healthcare Reform Bill and RFID

On facebook, I have friends who are democrat, republican and few confederates... I like an eclectic mix.

Recently, my republican friends have been shocked, terrified and dismayed by the revelation (hah!) that Obamacare has provisions in HR 3200 section 2521 for the mandatory implantation of RFID chips (presumably under the right hand or in the forehead, in accordance with apolcalyptic prediciton), by March 2013.

This video is typical of what's being said:

Now - I looked at the text of the bill, which is this one, http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/111/hr3200/text I think, and it's not section 2521, rather section 2561. And it's about setting up some kind of national database to track any RFIDs which may be implanted.

It's legalese, so maybe I misread it...

I sense a disjunct with reality here... can anyone coherently comment, or is this something just to accept, possibly while drooling?

I read the pertinent section. I can't see where any devices are implanted for tracking, but rather are life promoting or sustaining, like a pacemaker, a stent, etc. and the database is to track device safety.

I'm biased, but I think it's twisting the truth to get people all whipped up.

Re: US Healthcare Reform Bill and RFID

As far as I can see 3200 was never passed into law in the first place.

It's a shame, as one of the person's who is so agin obamacare, is a lady who'd really benefit from it. Unfortunately, she's believed the lies, and so is convinced she'll be worse off, and so is very scared.

Yeah, it pisses me off. Obscene amounts of money are spent on these sorts of ads and it's total crap. The ACA would help a lot of people. IMHO.

the Supremes will be tossing Obamacare to the wayside, anyway.
