A nice result. Possibly not just the result of the airport itself, but of the combination of airport, city, lake and "hinterland"

And then you have to see that the "other" airports apparently simply are worse

Add to this that ZRH has made some real progress in the last two decades, But it already got good notes in the 1970ies and 80ies when it was rather disastrous

I'm not saying, that it is a bad airport but one has to factor in different aspects. Such as, an Indian couple on a honeymoon would certainly see the Zurich airport through pink shades, whereas one will look at Reagan National for instance as mere means of connecting the dots despite it being just as accessible and userfriendly as ZRH.

What I mean is that I over decades (commercially since 1969) often felt maddened and angry and disgusted about this airport ! Sure, I got comfort when seeing that other airports managed to be worse, I only encountered a problem with grammar, because I never managed to find a way to increase "am schlechtesten"

Quite seriously, I am quite pleased about what ZRH has become now, but those ranks in such polls to me are rubbish. But you have to see that an airport is never just looked at separately but in connection to the infrastructure and the surrounding areas, and if you look at the infrastructure of ZRH with railways, trams and buses, with restaurants and shopping, and with places nearby like Zürich, Schaffhausen-am-Rheinfall, Konstanz, Luzern, Rapperswil, things of course look differently

I prefered Zurich airport 15 years ago, you could turn up 30 minutes before departure & have time to spare. Now you need over 1 hour, so Walli do you think that's progress?

I agree. In Munich we used to be able to get 1st class pax from the check-in to the gate in 10 minutes. Now? Forget it.........

It used to be about making travel as painless as possible. Now it's a contest to see what other hoops they make us passengers jump through.

IMO Zurich is an excellent airport. I cannot for the life of me understand what there is about it to complain about. Clean, safe, modern, great transport links and good airside shopping, coupled with being relatively compact. Recent improvements to the duty free areas and the new non-Schengen terminal are excellent too. In terms of the other European hub airports, I don't think there are any better (or at least, none that I have passed through in the last 5 years)

The central security with the arrival in the big duty free shop is a thing to complain , if anyone is keen to make a duty free shop , ok, but there should
be a pass by to avoid this hassle.
To compete with airports like Hong Kong or Singapore there is a lack of direct international flights to the Mega Cities like Hong Kong or Shanghai/Osaka , so the airport can attract more international customers.
I wish cathay pacific will shift their Flight from malpensa (Milan) to Zurich.

The Sofitel in Heathrow is awesome, can't be better then this one.
Hyatt got Plans to build 2 Hotels close to Zurich Airport

...and if anyone from the airport is reading, I've always found the staff - from retail to landside to airside to security - to be very polite and businesslike.

Thank you.

ZRH cannot compete with Singapore, no chance, for various reasons. SIN is in the London-Heathrow league

Cathay Pacific served ZRH successfully until Foreign Minister Dreyfuss made the Chinese president angry. ZRH within 4 months lost both Air China and Cathay Pacific.

The 2 Hyatt Hotels will be in the "Crescent" just behind the airport. And there will be an Ibis Hotel and a Dorint Hotel in Glattbrugg (both under construction).

The area with its good infrastructure will become more attractive and the many new hotels will have a positive effect on the prices. Long gone are the times when transit-passengers with delayed flights had to be sent to Zug and Aarau, as the hotels in the Zürich area were fully booked.
