I have never met anyone who has said that they are an "asset" who actually is one.
I'm an assett...if you have a vodka lake you need draining.
I've got security clearance too....to get into my apartment. Think it's called a Schlüssel.

I have never met anyone who has said that they are an "asset" who actually is one. It's all in their make-believe world. I've met plenty like that.

People who are never mention it - especially on a public form.
I said luckily, I am NOT an asset. But I do know a few who are and they live a very secluded life. Like to travel? Foget a bout it. Anyways I am not one of them

Truck drivers carrying guns is pointless. The attacker has the element of surprise.
trying to open a locked door is really surprising. Like you might have 5 whole seconds to polish your gun before he even opens the door.

You want the truth? YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!
Does that make you feel better Tom? Since you guys are now resorting to Hollywood movies for your argument.

I wish they did, I am half tempted to pull my kids out and head up to Wallis before the tourists get there. But alas there is no snow so its not worth it. We will have to wait until Friday like everyone else.

Is it hard for you to believe that someone in government knows someone else in government? Or do you think we operate in our own little bubbles completly excluded from each other?

Re: A shooting just happened in ( *fill in the blank * )

It is somewhat odd that someone calls a person within his own goverment "an asset".

Unless your branch and theirs dont align , that is.

Edit: I mean yes it is technically correct, just odd

The ones in government don't flash their secret decoder rings quite as much as you.

Perhaps I only know spies...

you know quite a few people on this forum have worked for various gov's over the years, have had security clearance of various levels, and so can smell BS a mile away

* yes BS smelling is one of the first secret agent courses you get sent on

Re: A shooting just happened in ( *fill in the blank * )

Sorry to burst all of your Jason Bourne fantasy bubbles here (I know it really turns you on) but an asset can be something as simple as a secretary or other less glorious office jobs and whatnot. Who said anything about spies?
We have a saying the less you know the more free you are. Which is why I've been out for sometime but still consider myself to be "in" government because of my associations like my family and friends who are still actively in. Just because one has high security clearence doesn't mean one is privy to the secret halls of D.C. Sorry to burst that bubble too. Gov't is very departmentalized and is notorious for not having a clue to what the other departments are doing. "The left hand is finally speaking with the right hand, heh-heh. G.Bush". That said, there are always rumors, gossip, scandals and leaks. Most corporations have similar affairs.

Secretaries didn't choose the secluded life; secluded life chose them, right?

We can all see what you tried to imply. Nice backpedal though, must be a nice skill to have as a spy
