Yes, because its true. But you're argument is..... God, Jesus and abortion? The problem is it doesn't stick, and has no relevance, except in your own mind. Which is convoluted with all kinds of cliches and preconceptions. And me, having intimate first hand experience with realities in the US, would agree to your imaginations and fantasies about the US? That would be quite stupid, no?

You can keep your bigotry and ignorance.

That's how many of you justify having guns.

Jesus says it's okay so it must be okay. And Kurt Russell says it's okay too and he's an actor so he's almost like Jesus with the reverence we give him in the U.S.

(Actually, Harrison Ford's mocking retort to Trump the other day was hilariously good).

One person's experience? Come on, you were trying so hard to be objective before.

Naw, that is fixed off the top, and the Swiss government already sets that aside.

How do you feel about the Swiss government herding its residents and taking over their responsibility to tithe to the church?

Don't you mean that I'm "deluding the topic" ()?

I don't know what the shepherd government has to do with gun control, but you brought it up umpteen posts ago.

(Actually, I do know -- you seem to think that the most abhorrent thing in the world is a government (elected by the people, therefore bearing their mandate) mandating certain behaviours. But only certain behaviours; it's apparently fine for the government to tell people how to drive, how much to tithe to churches (and to which churches), how much money childless residents should pay for the upkeep of schools, etc., but it's unthinkable that a government (well, a U.S. government, because the U.S. is special) should mandate whether and/or how people should have or use firearms. This seems just slightly odd to me.)

Re: A shooting just happened in ( *fill in the blank * )

Yes, deluding the topic, between US and Switzerland, social spending and gun control.

Gun ownership is not something mandated by the government, but a constitutional right.

Random shots in the dark for a reality you have trouble accepting. But it hasn't changed reality of it much. You don't see the futility of it? There is a name for that.

Must be frustrating to realize that your imagination doesn't impact reality. But I think most people realize this by the time they are 8 years old.

Actually no.

When we've given examples of how stricter gun controls have worked in other countries to reduce gun deaths, such as Canada and Australia; you have come back with remarks like "We have freedom in the U.S. and "We're Americans and that;s how we do it" and so on.

That's hardly an objective response it it?

Canada is questionable----

"To summarize the results, no statistically significant beneficial associations between firearms legislation and homicide by firearms, by the subcategory long guns, and spousal homicide, as well as the criminal charge of “discharge of a firearm with intent”, were found. "

was a quote from one fairly in-depth review wrt to gun control in Canada.

I definitely think that stricter gun control isn't going to fix the problem, the problem lies in the mental ideology of many Americans. The failed American dream and the millions of mentally-ill who feel powerless and hopeless is maybe the root cause to be addressed.

but for now--maybe some stricter gun laws will make a lot of loud people happy, and then we can see if there is a change (like in Canada, where in one case, it just ended up being over a billion tax dollars wasted).

I think most people realise that lots of things aren't real by the time they're eight years old. Like God.

Unless of course they've got brain-washed by their parents or society at large.

It must be frustrating.

Is that what you were trying to say?

Not really, but that your imaginary gun ban will cause you cognitive dissonance, confusing gun rights, religion, Chuck Norris, and prevent you from recognizing your own bigotry and ignorance. You don't even acknowledge the difference between actual laws and your wishful thinking. And somehow crying and lamenting about it will change anything?

You make me want to buy a Mac 10 myself just for the fun of it. I might just start to boast about positive gun news here for your sake.

There are loads of published articles linking gun-users with bible-bashers.

There seems to be some kind of correlation.

Oh, and you're the one that quoted Kurt Russell.

Is this more of your objectivity?

For fun? Is this more of your objectivity?

Those types of things are banned in the U.S. too.

What was that about actual laws and wishful thinking?

After a time people show their true colours even though at first they claim to be objective and not personal in their rants.

I can't be done with arguing with gun nuts and/or religious nuts.

Have fun on this thread.
