Another comment about ""Police were instructed not to disturb the bodies - which was why the al-Hillis' daughter Zeena was not found for eight hours"

I just looked at the map - the place where the murders took place is about 50Km from Aix le Bains which has a big police presence. It is also about 150Km from Lyon which is a French city with half million people - so where were the police forensics for 8 hours?
Maybe they had to bicycle from Lyon so could only manage 20Kmh?
They had to wait for the chap from the Police Judiciaire in Paris who first needed a glass or some glasses of wine in his bistro (4 hours) . Then was driven to les provinces du Sud (5 hours) where he met his colleagues and stayed overnight (10 hours) and then had an extensive meeting (4 hours) and then got driven up to the place in question (3 hours ) which means not less than 26 hours of hard work

Re: French shooting killing 4 British

This is back in the news again. A re-contextualisation was being performed recently to examine possible witness inconsistencies. French gendarmes say it is still very much an active case, some 9 years after the crime.

Let's hope there is some closure soon.

Sorry to say without much fictionalisation, it would still make a very good mystery novel.

From the Daily Mail article:

Quote:
Earlier this year, detectives said they were investigating a possible link between the murders and a bungling gang of contract killers based in Paris.

Pistol rounds found at the home of one member – a former police intelligence officer – were of the same calibre as those fired by the antique Luger PO6 used to kill the Al-Hillis.
Shocking. Wonder if he's a one-off in moving from policing to contract killing.
