Boris Johnson for PM?

Discussion open to Brits mostly, but anyone can join in, as long as you leave your car keys on the table .

I think Boris has done an outstanding job during the Olympics and Paralympics, you just can't fault him on his genuine infectious enthusiasm. Yesterday's speech after the athletes parade was pure Boris and just excellent:

There are mumblings that he may be the next Tory leader if Dave gets a poor result at the next GE, even though he himself has ridiculed the idea. So, is he simply the likeable buffon that we all know, or is there an astute, shrewd and highly intelligent politician below the surface?
He has a regular column in the Torygraph, which is always a fluent, interesting and insightful read.
