Obviously the police don't think it was an accident when he has been charged with her murder. They have also said there has been a history of call outs to his address for "allegations of a domestic nature" and that they are surprised about the accident rumour as it did not originate from them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-21459240 | Quote: | | | | | ( That is such terrible news. This isn't funny. Two people's (not forgetting their families) lives have been destroyed. This isn't the place for jokes.

This was a man who had the entire world cheer for him at the Olympics and set a new standard for other Para-olympians.
I feel really sorry for both of the families as a priority and for the sporting community that supported him in general.

The police HAVE to charge him with something. And he has admitted to shooting her, so murder is the logical thing to charge him with. They have to carry out a full and thorough investigation.
He's not guilty of murder until found so by a jury of his peers so calm down.
Guns are bad.

Guns are bad. | | | | | But doesn't murder imply pre-meditated, whereas manslaughter does not? Seems if they thought it was an accident, it would be manslaughter, no?

OK, wild speculation, but how can she "sneak" into a secure, guarded compound in the middle of the night?

A woman being beaten by her husband in a kitchen lashes out with a knife and he dies, up until a couple of years ago in the UK she would be sentenced with murder because of the knife, no matter that it was self defense and not-premeditated. As soon as you attack someone with a deadly weapon.... well, what do you expect, roses to bloom.

I will withhold judgment until more facts come out. I can easily see it being a surprise gone wrong. He was known to sleep with a pistol by his bed because of his fears (whether rational or not). If that's really the case, then I am sorry the girlfriend didn't have a better surprise for him than to shock him in the middle of the night.
As for where the victim was shot and how many times, it's not unreasonable to think a person could fire off four quick rounds without noticing the screams (if there were any) were from his girlfriend. Also just because they've had fights before it doesn't mean he wanted to kill her.
Yes, it appears he lives in a secure community. To me, that would maybe give him even MORE reason to fear and subsequently shoot an intruder, as it would mean the person did not belong there and had somehow gotten past the guards at the gate.
Really tragic for both families. | The following 3 users would like to thank 3Wishes for this useful post: | |
