Some people question whether they count the votes accurately
Last Iran presidential election some voting was so popular that a number of polling stations reported over 100% of eligible people voted.
Reminds me of the Irish saying; "vote early, vote often!"

You had to post this!
Now I have to do it.. the problem is that all the people running are idiots, I would have to cover my hair to do it (and wear a stupid coat) and quite frankly, it's going to be stolen anyway... errr... decisions, decisions.

While the last election had the same idiots, I at least had the hope of getting rid of the douche that has been sitting in office making a bigger idiot of the country while claiming there are no gay people in Iran and that Israel should be removed from maps.

But if I have to wear a hijab and a coat to do this, I have to spend the weekend eating bacon in a bikini.

uh this is a tough call, but what is this "voting fever" coming and perishing every 4 years? has anyone seen any changes in iran? specially any good changes? specially recently?
those who vote, only give a media coverage for those who run this show.
THINKING or even HOPING that the next president will come and make a change or reform is absurd. what reform can be done based on the current constitution?
how should we begin to believe that we are given the righteously filtered candidates to choose from? any woman amongst the candidates? ... I was just joking and hoping
maybe sometimes between bad and worse, we better pick nothing at all! sometimes silence speaks louder than words. and maybe this is our case today.

Is putting the wrong date on the original post a ploy to get expat-Iranians not to vote?

Did someone hack my original post or was it a distraction-induced error True Persians know that we are voting today and not on Bastille Day which this year falls on a Sunday.
Sorry about that and thumb up to Tom1234...

Also, keep in mind it's a write-in and your fingerprints must be visible on the ballot.

From the Guardian today
"It has taken them seven hours (tonight) to count 800,000 votes while four years ago they counted almost 30 million votes in few hours," one Iranian living in Tehran said via online chat on Facebook. "It might be a good sign that actually this time they're really counting."
&
"The moderate Iranian cleric Hassan Rouhani has taken a strong lead in the initial results of Iran's presidential election, threatening to win a simple majority and avoid a second-round runoff."
"Rouhani's nearest rival was the conservative Tehran mayor, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a long way behind with 16.7%"
So will Rouhani succeed or will they suddenly find a trove of anti-Rouhani votes?

THis is wrong. The candidates differ vastly.
One point is to be taken in mind and that is that they have to vote for somebody to care for the insterests of Iran, and not for somebody to please somebody on this planet. There are some positions on which, also the new President cannot compromise in any way.
And a word in favour of Mr Ahmedinejad. During his reign, Iran advanced, Iran was more stable than in decades, and Iran was NOT involved into ANY military conflict | This user would like to thank Wollishofener for this useful post: | |

Let us hope he moves Iran along a more moderate path & is allowed to keep his pre-election promises.
