OK

You are either.
  1. Stupid (in the nicest possible way)
  2. Taking the piss.
Which is it?

This child will be the future King or Queen, how many of the other children born on the same day will have that on their CV?
Did the child earn that honour? No.
Did any of the royals earn the honour of being called King or Queen? No.

Why would i fawn over a kid who just happens to be born into a fortunate family?

OK as you know pretty much I agree with you however this time you really are taking the piss.

Oh and that could be classed as Elitism. Are you a Prince as well?
Well I will sign out of this woo fest, but just have to point out that the issue of whether the majaority are stupid is unquestionable, it is a fact of life, demonstrated by the education system and those that make the cut.

Firstly, ftfy.

The birth of a child is a happy event for those directly invovled. I dont think the brith of this child, however, is anything to get excited about. Plenty will be born on the same day, some of whom will probably make a difference to other people lives in much more important ways. If this child goes on to make a difference in the lives of those who suffer, then i will consider that royal to be a great bastion of britishness.

My question: why is this child more 'important' (your words) then the countless others born on the same day?
Is the child anything other then exactly the same as the hundreds of other being born on the same day? Does this child being born bring a positive effect for humanity?
Yes, because it makes the whole nation feel good about itself. All children hopefully have that effect on their families, but a royal birth affects the whole of the people, not just individual ones.

I don`t understand why some people have to start with insults? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and that is that!
Also, if you know someone else who is giving birth you can post about it and we will get excited over that! I wouldn`t mind!

No but their ancestors did at some point.

Regardless of your arguments, you are in the minority, probably down to jealousy.
A historic event is about to happen and there are millions upon millions of people happy about it. So do all us happy people a favour and disappear onto another more depressing thread.

oh and here is a list of the charity work the babies father does for humanity.

How much do you do?

One last thing before I go. This is a baseless argument, if I was born into wealth that my ancestors had robbed and stolen then I would happily give away what free money I earn too.

You don't have to fawn over it. If you're not interested, ignore it. But for many a royal birth creates a feel good factor of historical significance.

Like yesterday England winning the 2nd test gave a great feel good feeling to English cricket fans, if you're not a cricket fan you don't have to join in with our celebrations.

I don't see why it matters. Their ancestors did and were the leaders of their time. But nobody's making you fawn over anyone. Personally, if I had any kids, I'd much rather they had the Royal Family as role models than the pratts that get called celebs/stars these days. Yes, they have their ups and downs, but overall they pull together to get the job done and they work hard at doing it.

All children from well off families should be shipped straight to poverty cause they didn't earn it.

Any of you read some of Sue Townsend's books, about the royal family being sent to poverty? Hilarious and very well-written. Titles I remember are The Queen and I and something like Queen Camilla

On another note, I really pity poor Kate who had to bear so much public pressure, being scrutinized through all her pregnancy, and now having to give birth with paparazzi camping out the hospital. And she has to use the Queen's own OB she might be royalty and filthy rich, I wouldn't swap places for anything!

It is historic only because people make it so. Much more historic should be the advances we make in the fields of medicine. Much more historic should be the news that scientists have made a breakthrough in curing blindness. how many people are extolling those scientists virtues? how many 'baby-watch' websites have their been for that team of scientists?

Except that the cricket stars worked hard to get to where they are, so (in my opinion) people celebrating their hard work is justified. Its something to be celebrated. They werent born with a cricket bat in the afterbirth.

That was a useful and well thought out post. As a result, i have completely reversed my opinion on how a single child born into a nation of 65million will actually improve the lives of those 65 million. Well done, you.
If you can't see why it is notable that the royal family are giving birth and increasing the lineage and longevity aforementioned culturally significant, worldwide famouse, and revenue-generating royal family, then I can only assume that you are morbidly stupid.

Quote:

If you take an interest in the royalty, and appreciate the historical significance of it and the effect on our culture, then of course you take an interest. Isn't that forehead-slappingly obvious?

Sorry... but how are advances in the field of medicine directly related to this, other than in your own mind? Are you saying they are not also reported? Sounds like you're talking absolute garbage.

Your grand father wasn't royal. I see no reason why you can't go around extolling his virtues though, if you were so proud of him.

Hilariously bad argument... their children are not royal lineage. Being royal lineage automatically makes you significant. Did you not learn history in school?

Your post is so logically flawed it almost wasn't worth spending 2 minutes replying to.

I know. Those idiots who call babies cute should be strung up too. Why admire a baby who is cute? What did they do to deserve cuteness or good genes?

Send them to the coal mines I say! See how cute they are covered in dirt and grime.
