Declared legally dead back in 1994 and now can't get the decision reversed.

Well, at least his wife got some social security payments. Sounds like the classic "out going for cigarettes - never went back" story.

As newspapers reported yesterday: A German court tried to reach Lothar Matthaeus for weeks to get him pay alimonies to one of his ex wives. When they could not get a letter delivered to him was he by mistake declared dead...
