Did you see the women's slopestyle---barely any acceptable runs, the snow was terrible for the speed of the course and the landings. A Canadian medal potential might have broken her jaw of a scary bail (We only got TWO medals in that event!!).

Even the medal ceremony after, the presenters were sinking in the snow/slush!
There has been much wailing and gnashing of teeth concerning the slopestyle & halfpipe courses... And Yuki Tsubota indeed broke her jaw.

Watching Swiss women playing So. Korea in curling right now...So. Korea better than I expected...

Re: Winter Olympics 2014

Loved the unexpected bronze in the cross country sprint final. Poor guy had exhausted himself in previous races, out way out the back and then 3 of the other 5 crashed out and he skated through to get the bronze. Great Olympic moment.

Not as good as the gold medal many years ago by the aussie in the speed skating. Was coming absolute last by a long way ended up with the gold medal when the entire feld crashed in front of him!

I don't remember the coverage of any Olympic Games being so negative... Except for the good old days of the Cold War of course.

Anything nice to say about Sochi 2014?
Coverage on the non english television broadcasters is excellent. Its a british thing to complain since they dont like the russians

Yeah, they showed that again the other night I believe. I missed it as I was getting dinner ready, but the OH saw it.

IPod picked up a couple of new fans at my house tonight too....fantastic performance along with exemplary finish line behavior/sportsmanship (and yeah, he's cute too.... )

And kudos to the Swiss Women's Curling team for pulling out a tricky victory against Korea.

Re: Winter Olympics 2014

Wow! Third gold for Switzerland and it's the first time there's been a double gold awarded in the Olympics. Exactly the same time for both skiers in the Women's Downhill. Amazing in this day and age that they still couldn't split them. That'll put Switzerland 5th in the medal table ahead of the US.

Re: Winter Olympics 2014

Hopp Engelberg!

Engelberg is representing this year with 10 competitors who are either from here or go/went to school here.

First Gold today with Dominique Gisin. Although I was rooting for Mancuso who is from my home mountain, it was nice to see someone from my "new" home mountain win.

Tomorrow, check out Fabian Bösch in the Slopestyle skiing.

CH vs SWE men's hockey is at 13:30 on Friday? How the hell am I going to watch it? Think I'll either have a very long lunch, or take the afternoon off.
