CH vs SWE men's hockey is at 13:30 on Friday? How the hell am I going to watch it? Think I'll either have a very long lunch, or take the afternoon off.
Isn't that what the DVD record button is for?

I gave up trying to record sports; some way or another, you'll always find out the result before you get round to watching it.

My OH. Pretty much constantly when he's home.

Just because I know the result, doesn't mean I don't want to see how it happened.

It's been on the red button service, but is just about to come on to BBC 2 proper, about 20 past six our time.

Russians supreme in the pairs skating again. Looking forward to the men's competition and seeing Plushenko skate against the younger guys.

Re: Winter Olympics 2014

Team Luge? New one on me, but sounds as though it might be interesting.

"In an Olympics packed with new events, luge gets in on the act with the debut of Olympic team relay. Each squad goes in order: female competitor, then male, then the doubles team. Each time an athlete gets to the bottom of the track, they hit a touchpad which releases their next team-mate in line, like a baton change. The fastest overall time wins. Germany, winners of the past 10 relay world titles, are the crushing favourites."

That's on this afternoon around 4.15pm UK time on the red button. Skating on again too from 3pm UK time on the red button.

Not sure if this is going to be interesting: Germany won the gold in both male and female singles as well as the double already... Each with for luge standards rather large leads. So unless pushing this button is harder than it sounds should this be a done deal.

Re: Winter Olympics 2014

Squeaky win for the Swiss hockey team last night, despite dominating the game. At least the defence seems pretty solid. friday's match against the Swedes will be interesting (if I can somehow get to watch it).

Yes, it sounds like it from the BBC link. But we all know things don't always go as expected.

Lizzy in first place in the skeleton after the first two runs.

Always thought that the luge event would be far more entertaining if two sleds started simultaneously and they had to battle their way all the way down the run for the lead. Much like Rollerball; without rollerskates, and um, balls actually.

I think Rollerball ( la James Caan version) should be an Olympic event anyway.
