Many thanks for all of your help!

The plan has changed slightly - having looked at a map () I have realised Lyon is driving distance, so I will be doing the following instead:

Wednesday evening, drive from ZRH to Dijon, pick up friend at Dijon station. Dinner and hotel in Dijon.

Thursday: Drive around the region a bit, do some winery-ing (not me at all since I am the driver, of course ) eat somewhere around there (recommendations welcome).

Friday: Leisurely cruise down to Lyon, have lunch on way, arrive in the afternoon. Dinner in Lyon.

Saturday: Day in Lyon, ideally eat in Bocuse in the evening if we can get in.

Sunday: Chill out, drive back via Dijon.
pm me for restaurant recommendations for anything south of Beaune. And Beaune is highly recommended for a half a day atleast. There is a ton or places to see, if you like taking it easy in Southern Burgundy. I only have this perspective because I used to live there. Any idea now when you will be going?

I strongly recommend a visit to Dijon, a beautiful city right in the midst of the region with lots of good restaurants

I will definitely be in Dijon, but that bit is already planned - arrive in the evening, go for Dinner at William Frachot then a bit of a look around the town.

Many thanks to Cornfloozed who went out of his way to help me.
