That’s too far away from their culture for Eurocentric oligarchs

It’s like Putin got it all aligned for his plans:
1. Lack of decisive stance from Biden’s administration on Russia after Trump was pleading with Russian president whereas, at the moment, the relations between US-Russia have reached all time lows since the Cold War period.
2. Divided EU nations over their cultural and legal reforms with eastern block countries drifting away from the western agenda. Putin has sensed weakness here and opportunity.
3. Lack of decisive support for NATO and relaxed morale.
4. Economic race US vs China put safety in the region as the second priority and Putin knew it.
5. The Winter Olympics have finished and Putin managed to secure a good relationship with Chinese president.

There’s no coincidence there with the momentum being perfect, very conducive for sudden attack and misleading the rest of the world.

Rumours that the Russian advance is paused due to logistics problems.

Russia claims any pause was due to their wish to negotiate with Ukraine, which seems unlikely as they never tried to negotiate before.

Certainly keeping such a large attack force supplied with fuel and ammunition is not easy, especially if the invasion is taking much longer than planned.

Hopefully, the Ukrainian army is organised to interfere with supply convoys.

Also to point out that Germany didn't forbid the UK to fly over germany for weapons delivery. They just never asked for permission and decided to have a flight plan over other airspace.

Putin is seemingly becoming desperate and trying to seed religious hatred.
He's now sending Chechen Muslim fighters (who just a few years ago were fighting the Russians) to fight now the Ukrainians. Makes one wonder if there was any free media in Russia how would the Russians react to Putin sending Muslims to kill their Christian cousins? Sick, sick mind.

It is unbelievable how bad they have prepared for this. Putin must be furious.

Gen Hertling had some interesting thoughts on this on CNN this morning. Undersized force for the size of the operation, everything way too stretched, poor logistics. Explains also why you see Russian army vehicles running out of gas and Russian supply lines very vulnerable and exposed to UA attacks.
