I disagree - a drone would be perfect for this.

I should think that perhaps only one in four vehicles is a tank. The rest will be troop carriers, food wagons, water wagons and fuel tankers

A drone operator will easily be able to see which are the fuel tankers.
If these are targeted then they will create the most damage due to the fuel and long-term, the tanks won't be going anywhere without any fuel.
It could be done with a drone, but it would require a massive number of drones. Ukraine has officially 18 of them in total. Also, in a convoy you typically have the fuel tankers in a separate "cluster", not spread in between the convoy to avoid precisely what you say: identify and strike the fuel and you eliminate the convoy. Artillery is one option, but requires weapons with high-precision and this is tricky when it's so far away. The other option is from the air, but this implies the Russians don't have the air cover, which they do. In short, the Ukrainians are simply unable to target it with anything. If they were, they would have.

Btw, in a convoy tanks are being transported, they don't move on their own precisely due to fuel efficiency.

I have to say that Steven Seagal (your Avatar) is a bit of a <moderated>.

He's been banned from Ukraine for his pro-Putin stance in the past.

I think that was the plan but the unseasonably warm weather has made alternative cross-country routes impassable with mud - hence the large, single convoy, with all types of vehicles.

News to me but back to the point - I would post translation, but no access to my laptop at the moment... meduza is one of or maybe even THE independent Russian news outlet... I expect them to be banned in a matter of hours.

The site is available in English: https://meduza.io/en

They seem to be based in Latvia: https://meduza.io/en/pages/about

Have been wondering how easy it is for Russians to access non-state-approved news, including foreign outlets, under normal circumstances and how much interest there is in doing so. It seems to be being made even more difficult now.

A typical showpiece of Russia's propaganda of its "legitimate" security concerns and interests. People's lifes, aspirations and future be dammed.

Yes, but look at the context in which Aleydis posted this. It was a response to my link with an interview with Kortunov in which he was shocked, ashamed and depressed. It's one more example of hard-core Kremlin insiders becoming disillusioned with Putin's regime.

Thanks!! To add to the context - the article was printed in Nezavisimaya Gazeta on 27.02, the interview came out ca. 19 hours ago.

Censorship on EF!!! Attack on an innocent Russian national. Seriously, let's leave it at that, not a proper place. But I will share how I experience "the new reality" as soon as I have more input.

No wonder. Their infamous cartel wars, drug lords infighting to eliminate one another and lack of respect for human lives make them qualify to the very same category as the Ukraine invaders undergo.

Re: World War 3 or just a local spat in Ukraine?

The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted to reprimand Russia over its invasion of Ukraine and demanded that Moscow stop fighting and withdraw its military forces, an action that aims to diplomatically isolate Russia at the world body.

The resolution, supported by 141 of the assembly's 193 members, ended a rare emergency session called by the U.N. Security Council and as Ukrainian forces battled on in the port of Kherson in the face of air strikes and a devastating bombardment that forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee. Thirty-five members including China abstained and five countries including Russia, Syria and Belarus voted against the resolution. While General Assembly resolutions are non-binding, they carry political weight.

Alongside Russia, the countries that voted against the UN resolution were Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea and Syria.

Tread lightly. We don't do racism here, ok? If anything, I was surprised the famine joke wasn't targeted at the North Korean guy.

On a more serious note, Eritrea's vote is totally bizarre if you think about their sorry state's birth.
