Re: World War 3 or just a local spat in Ukraine?

Ugh!

Satellite images show the bodies have been on the street in southern Bucha, since at least March 18. (Satellite image ©2022MaxarTechnologies) so disproving claims of Ukraine's false flag.

Fact checking Russian claims about Bucha.
https://www.bbc.com/news/60981238

William Hague has written an excellent analysis on the value of intelligence.
Revealing the truth about Russia’s actions and intentions is proving to be a powerful weapon in the Ukraine conflict
It's in the Times, behind a paywall, I'm afraid.

This is true. What matters it the motive of the writer. Are they trying to deflect from Russian atrocities, or do they really care about the Yemenese (in this case)? If they cared about the Yemenese, they'd already have been going on about in this forum, and they haven't.

Ergo: deflection.
should we also expect that the people who now seem to really care about war crimes being committed have also posted on this forum against atrocities committed in yemen, libya, iraq, afghanistan etc.?

I know it is a difficult concept but if you are interested in finding an answer to your question have you considered looking in the threads about those countries instead of in a thread about Ukraine?

its like when the germans used to throw babies on their bayonets!
So what Vushka refers to here, apparently, are horror stories of German soldiers bayoneting babies in Belgium, WW1. Stories that were made up in order to demonize the enemy.

http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/6648/

In other words, Vushka denies that what happened in Bucha were Russian atrocities, but staged scenes by the Ukronazis.

Do I have this right, Vushka?

Re: World War 3 or just a local spat in Ukraine?

Good news, I'd say. Bravo, Ursula.
https://www.politico.eu/article/ursu...r-crime-probe/

Quote:
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Monday backed efforts to investigate reported Russian war crimes in Ukraine.

Following a call with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, von der Leyen said that EU investigators will help Kyiv to probe reports from Ukrainian officials and NGOs that Russian forces massacred and raped civilians in towns near the Ukrainian capital, including Bucha. The reports, images and video footage have prompted calls for investigations into war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The EU will be “sending investigation teams on the ground to support the Ukrainian Prosecution Services,” von der Leyen said in a statement. It was not clear when exactly the teams will be sent to Ukraine.

“The perpetrators of these heinous crimes must not go unpunished,” she added.
They must document everything, and properly so, identify each body, for handing over the remains to their families, when and if possible, for closure and for bringing this massacre in front of the International justice courts.

Pure barbarism. I really believed that it was not a will of Russians as a nation, but now I'm not so sure anymore.

I guess alcohol + extreme stress + access to weapons creates these kinds of monsters.

Thanks for posting this, you were quicker than me. I heard it today and was shocked. Kremlin showed their true colours...not that they cared to hide anyway.

Kremlin is a madhouse.
I seriously don't know where to start.. I took a part-time job fact-checking on the war, including the 2 Russian-language international broadcasting channels and only occasionally writing my opinion on the events - usually very much unappreciated After watching yesterday's evening news on 1tv, I woke up totally hung over and was happy that one of the neighbors' cats stopped by. I was a lawyer in my "previous" life, before I decided to stay here in CH, I have a degree in PolSci with a minor in English Language and Literature. I know BS when I see or hear it And in that piece it was BS on top of BS and BS squared. It simply does not make sense to fact-check a report on a news channel which lost its credibility something like 15 years ago, maybe 20. I tried. I saved it and will write down / translate the entire items pertaining to the Ukraine war. Hopefully the cat is there again tomorrow morning. And here I also refer to the Russian ambassador to the UN not being able to lie properly (TinyK, thanks!). Today's forum at the UN was a very special occasion. I will come back to this.

The item, where a plate flew at the wall , was as follows. 1tv: our (Russian) soldiers are delivering humanitarian aid, organized, among other people, by the women of Russia, to the people in the East Ukraine, TV frame shows happy elderly women in Ukraine. Here question: what are the soldiers doing there in the first place and why the humanitarian aid???? People are actually buying this crap.

Yes, because this is what they see on tv/read in newspapers/listen to the radio, aleydis. Especially those of certain ages. Carefully chosen images shown and explained to them in a certain way. Over and over again. Of course they buy it.
I really feel for all those people who don't buy it and have no power to change anything.

You seem to miss one point here. We've seen that Russia lies repeatedly without any remorse or blinking an eye.

They even contradicted their own narrative, latest example:
- Putin saying they will be greeted with flowers
- Later saying that everything is going according to plan and publishing a list of destroyed Ukraine's military equipment (including tanks)
So, how destroying tanks goes hand in hand with being greeted with flowers? Please, explain, I'm really curious how you can stick it together. Or will you question that these informations were released officially by Russia also? Don't skip harder questions and then we talk. Otherwise you know who you are. Mr. T

Conclusion:
These lies are not for us, but for the people living in Russia and being fed with propaganda, as a part of building "we're threatened" and "we'll soon be an empire" narrative. In that way you can steal from your own people infinitely.

How many times are you willing to give Russia "a second chance" and trusting that this time they will not lie?
In my eyes this credit is long gone.
