It's got Simon Pegg in it. But not in a humourous role.

Channel 4 - The Undeclared War - Cold War 2 drama
Watching the episodes so far, it's a PC correct Spy drama set in the near future of Britain in 2024, where the geeks of GCHQ
( who work in the doughnut ) race against time to crack gobildeegook malware code hidden inside the gobildeegook Unix code
after a Cyber attack on the UK launched by ( yep you guessed it, none other than ) the dastardly Russian FSB !!
All the the recent 2010 & 2020 cliche conspiracy theories about Russian interference of British public opinion and British elections
over the internet are thrown into the fray of this oft times bewildering & surreal Channel 4 spy drama.

The correction came quick though.
Anyway, that was miles better than Bush43, who said in May on the Ukrain war "the decision of one man to launch a brutal and wholly unjustified invasion of Iraq ... I mean of Ukraine ... Iraq too. Anyway ..."

The correction came quick though | | | | | Nevertheless those Swiss citizens who trained in the Swiss army before joining 'their final calling' to become members of the Vatican's Swiss Guards,
have been stepping up their halberd and pike drills, just in case. |

Missed these news from last week. Well, the Swiss Federal Council recommends to fill your heating oil or gas tank RIGHT NOW. If you think winter is still a few months away or prices are high now...stop thinking and fill the damned tank: | Quote: | | | | The Federal Council calls on all those who can switch from gas to oil to act immediately. As of today, independently of market prices, we must build up reserves of fuel oil. If everyone waits until the fall to fill up, we will have a logistical problem, said the Minister of the Economy (Guy Parmelin). | | | | | https://www.20min.ch/fr/story/il-vou...i-207557082249 |

I was more concerned about getting oil than the price paid.
When speaking to the delivery guy, he told me everything was quiet as nobody was buying oil in the hope of prices decreasing in the future. He told me it will be a problem as there will not be enough delivery capacity if everybody tries to re-fill just before winter.
I saw reports that there is now a shortage of wood furnaces and firewood throughout Germany.

In other news: https://nationalpost.com/news/world/...border-reports
someone tries to smuggle 28m out of Ukraine. I'm surprised that this came to light. I figured that a cut of $28m would be more than enough to clear customs...

The customs and borders are supervised all the time these days. One must be an imbecile to risk their freedom for a cut that will be confiscated anyways.

Turkey has seized a Russian cargo ship carrying Ukraine grain following a complaint from Ukraine.
Turkey controls the only exit from the Black Sea to the rest of the world so if they continue to block Russian ships then stealing Ukraine grain will become difficult and expensive.

| | Re: World War 3 or just a local spat in Ukraine? | Quote: | | | | | Most concerning is the Russia-China-India alliance. With every day that Russia make ground, this alliance is emboldened, and a move on Taiwan is a when not if, and is increasingly likely to be sooner than later.
The Lithuania stand-off for me is a good thing. It may be the catalyst to bring NATO into the fight. Whilst Russia is dealing with an alternative set of facts, diplomacy is useless.
No, I am not an advocate for war, in fact the contrary. But the global world order is at a tipping point, and only military readiness will prevent it tipping the wrong way. | | | | | Russia make ground?
I just looked at a map and it looks like Russia has gained 100 sqKm in the last two months.
Ukraine has an area of around six hundred thousand sqKm so only another thousand years before Russia takes all of it.
Lot of publicity now about Russia capturing the city of Lysychansk but it is only about 40Km from the Russian border so not a big incursion, Ukraine is about 1,200Km wide.
