Shame to discard and ignore good information because you do not like the author, I even confess to "thanking" some of your posts.

I was about to mention Mercola, then realised you had said "good information".

I thought it was an interesting article. Doesn't mean I have to like it or agree with it. Although I thought the points are well argued.

Now the Russians have cut supplies to the EU through one pipeline to 20% I do wonder what they are doing with the surplus?

They can store it but sooner or later the storage will be full. If they start turning off their gas wells then with their usual level of competence they may not be able to start them up again quickly, or at all
Russian solutions: Flare it!

It will be interesting to see what the government does with Igor Strelkov, one of the key figures in 2014 in Donetsk and a very aggressive Russian imperialist and militarist.
He shares the goals of the “special operation,” but has become the government’s most vocal critic, which is why his comments are often reproduced in the Ukrainian media.
You can read some of his comments translated into English here (Igor Girkin aka Igor Strelkov).

Re: World War 3 or just a local spat in Ukraine?

The US sending another billion dollars worth of munitions, and also admitted they have been sending HARM anti-radar missiles. Coincides with today's claim Ukraine has wiped out six Russian anti-aircraft systems around Kherson with such missiles.

Claims of increased Ukraine partisan activity in occupied areas, also claimed they are using weapons purchased from Russian soldiers. If it was not for the terrible civilian toll then it would be a black comedy.

Re: World War 3 or just a local spat in Ukraine?

Looks like Ukraine scored a massive hit on a Russian military airport in Crimea. Possibly special forces. Reports that more than 30 aircraft might be hit. Traffic jams of Russian tourists leaving Crimea also reported.

Wow.

I prefer the Ukrainian humor:

"The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine cannot establish the cause of the fire, but once again reminds of the rules of fire safety and the prohibition of smoking in unspecified places," the ministry's press service notes."

It will probably be a long time before we know verifiable details.

There are claims that AGM-88 HARM missiles disabled radar/air defense.

Also claims that the US supplied HIMARS now have long range rockets despite US denials.

Images from private satellite companies showed ca. 30 military aircraft parked around yesterday, looking forward to the newest photos.

The Russians always labelled this area as "safe" and had a casual approach, now they will have to behave like a proper military.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine would like to remind everyone that the presence of occupying troops on the territory of Ukrainian Crimea is not compatible with the high tourist season. https://t.co/PFl6jBzKh4

There are claims that high Russian officials are a large part of the tourist traffic jams trying to leave Crimea.

New headache for Orban according to a Hungarian newspaper:
Quote:
Crude oil has stopped arriving in Hungary via the Friendship II pipeline (Druzhba pipeline) since August 4th, after Russian company Transneft stopped the delivery.
Seems Ukraine has actually turned off the flow claiming nonpayment of transit fees by Russia.

Pass the popcorn.

Another unlikely claim is that Ukraine at the Yuzhnoye design bureau is designing and building longer-range military rockets suitable for existing MLRS launchers ( see Saki airfield attack ).

Re: World War 3 or just a local spat in Ukraine?

Pretty cool.

Just heard a professor of the German military academy argue in a podcast it was a combined operation of UA special forces and a newish UA missile that has 500 km range and is somehow domestically developed (did not catch the name of the thing, something unpronouncable).

Good. Keeps the pressure up on the Europeans to offer maximum support and don't soften up.

500Km? Then keep a close eye on the Black Sea Fleet central oil storage just a 100Km down the road in Sevastapol.

Re: World War 3 or just a local spat in Ukraine?

An independent analyst, Tom Cooper, claims the satellite image shows the following list of destroyed Russian equipment
....that was a total of:
- 4 Su-30SM
- 8 Su-27SM
- 5 Su-24M
- 6 Mi-8 (Helicopters)
- 1 Il-20RT (military Airliner)
....and 4 ammo depots....

Here are some Twitter photos claimed to be of the careless way Russian handle live ammo which would multiply the damage from an attack (I have no way to verify these photos)
Name: UkraineAmmo2.jpg
Views: 74
Size: 138.9 KB

Name: UkraineAmmo1.jpg
Views: 76
Size: 134.0 KB

And this is claimed to be a video of Russians leaving Crimea today, again I have no way to verify it.

Before and after Satellite photos show the extent of the explosions at the Saky airbase in Crimea. The extent of the damage, the fact that there was not one explosion in one area but a number of explosions and aircraft damaged away from the main buildings, not to mention craters in the satellite photo, suggests more than accidental damage caused this.
