| | Re: Malaysian Airlines MH 17 has crashed over Ukraine
In a total coincidence, Russian authorities held a news conference yesterday with "newly found" radar evidence blaming the Ukrainians
What is actually ironic, is that in the process, Russia has actually shown that their previous (or current?) story is a complete lie, because the radar images the produced then and now completely contradict each other | Quote: | | | | On July 21st 2014 the Russian Defence Ministry produced the following graphic, claiming the following: “Besides it, Russian system of air control detected the Ukrainian Air Force aircraft, purposed Su-25, moving upwards toward to the Malaysian Boeing-777. The distance between aircrafts was 3-5 kilometers.”
In today’s press conference the story had changed completely. No longer was the Russian Defence Ministry talking about SU-25s, but now there was in fact no other aircraft, or any other object close to MH17. | | | | | https://www.bellingcat.com/news/uk-a...mh17-evidence/ | This user would like to thank esto for this useful post:

As expected, the official report blames a BUK missile supplied by Russia and launched from territory held by rebels. Source |

The international investigation lead by the Dutch, have identified the missile launcher that downed MH17 was supplied by Russia: | Quote: | | | | Among the key findings were: the plane was hit by a Russian-made Buk-9M38 missile; the missile was fired from the rebel-held village of Pervomaysk in eastern Ukraine; and the launcher was transported into Ukraine from Russia.
"This Buk trailer came from the territory of the Russian Federation, and after the launch it was returned again to the territory of the Russian Federation," said Wilbert Paulissen, chief investigator with the Dutch national police. | | | | | I suppose the next step is to try to bring those responsible into court, altho I doubt Russia will be willing to offer them up so easily. | Quote: | | | | Prosecutors said that while they had not brought charges against culprits or established a court, they had identified 100 individuals of interest in relation to the incident on July 17, 2014.
"Of a number of them, we know pretty exactly what their role and position was, for instance those who organized the arrival of the Buk rocket and who were in charge of the transport that day," said Fred Westerbeke, chief prosecutor at the Netherlands National Prosecutor's office.

AbFab, that was the best thanks I ever got!!!
I really didn't have a thanks-button. Maybe I was logged off again, the system keeps jucking me out.
(On the other hand I can come home late at night and notice I've been logged in all the time. EF and techniques .... )
