Also reports of 27 people killed on the beach in Tunisia by a single gunman and a Mosque blown up in Kuwait - various conflicting reports of the number killed in Kuwait.

Apparently the perpetrator is a local man from Pontarlier, father of 3 children

Condolences to the families and friends.

Very sorry to read this happened in Tunisia, as a poor country in need of tourist money. We had our second holiday to Tunisia just after the museum incident, that we had already booked. We were surprised how full the flight was from UK. We stayed in Sousse. We always dressed discreetly & walked all directions from our hotel, that from we saw our hotel was well policed from all directions, our hotel not mentioned in this article. This incident the people came from the sea. We would never have gone in the sea there as we viewed what happened to the sewage from the poor parts.
We would be very careful what country to be in during Ramadan that this year is until 17 July 2015, as well as crowded areas, i.e. to know escape routes.

We got back from a holiday there (Djerba) a fortnight ago and my heart really bleeds, not only for the victims, but also the tens of thousands of decent, hospitable and friendly Tunisians whose livelihoods will be affected by this. I've visited the country four times now and I would definitely go back because you can't let the barstewards win

Nice words but I'm sure you won't go back. Would you seriously consider putting your family on a beach where tourists have been murdered in cold blood? I know I wouldn't. It's bad because Tunisia have been successful in building up tourism over the past 25 years only for it to be ruined be an islamomong.

The President has already called up 000s of army reservists to guard the resorts and national monuments.
Beefed up security, police road blocks etc... will also be introduced to create a ring of steel around the popular tourist areas. There is probably no safer time to go than 'now'.

You are right. This place have been targeted already. It's anywhere else that is dangerous because we can't predict when and where it will happen again.

Somehow I reckon the chances of getting shot whilst sunning yourself by the sea are going to be somewhar less in Marbella or on the Amalfi Coast than in Tunisia or Sharm-El-Sheikh.

British survivors of the Tunisia beach massacre have praised the actions of locals who formed a human shield to protect tourists and “saved many lives”.

Re: Islamic State

Wonderful to see on the BBC news, many British tourists, with families, who have decided to stay on to the end of their holiday, and saying they would recommend people continue to come- because the Tunisians are wonderful people- who are true victims of this tragedy too. Heart warming.
