Clear aspirations for an empire. He's solidified domestic politics to the point that nobody can stand up to him. He'll be sidelining Davutoglu shortly, and will be chairing the cabinets. Without much of a political challenge at home, he will seek to expand his domain outside Turkey's borders soon afterwards.

I have to admit that region needs good solid leadership. But I don't think he is the one to do it peacefully. His condescendence towards the Kurds is an indication of how he would likely deal with other cultural differences . This Us vs. Them narrative is an ominous sign of upcoming conflicts. I think he intends to vindicate for Europe's rebuff.

There is an elephant in the NATO room.

First of all, the situation is not his fault really. As he never achieved a majority of the votes. As soon as the Cumhüryet Halk Partisi manages to join forces with some other parties, THEY will have the majority in parliament.

Second, EMPIRE ? well, it depends. He may find an Agreement with Mr Putin to divide Bulgaria, with the southeast becoming part of Turkey, the rest part of the Russian Federation. Russia then will force Greece to cede Saloniki back to Turkey. In exchange for help, the Baghdad government may cede Mosul back to Turkey. In exchange for help Damascus will cede additional territory to the Sandshak of Iskanderiyah. Everybody will be happy

New attack on Kobane today; Kurdish sources claim ISIS came from the Turkish side. Turks are denying this, look here, in German language.

Turkey allows ISIS Forces passage through Turkey, but now also Kurds through Turkey.

So long as he keeps his marbles in the black suitcase they are safe from loss.

But there were 9 lunar missions, we have moon rocks, and left a reflecting mirror. Why is he tripping out like this?

I would NOT say not to be believed but rather not to be taken word by word literally as a good part of their NEWS are spot on

Re: Erdogan's 1,000 room palace

Some papers today are claiming the palace has more than 1,150 rooms; not really relevant - 1,000 rooms are already many too many

Re: Erdogan's 1,000 room palace

interesting article in FT today title "Erdogan looks to the classroom to create a religious generation" here.
You might need to be a subscriber.

He is getting ever more public about his ambitions to turn Turkey from a secular nation to a much more religious one; claiming to reverse the changes of the last 200 years.
Although according to the article the percentage of people who pray regularly and fast has fallen during his rule.

Re: Erdogan's 1,000 room palace

A number of newspapers published today that this palace was built illegally; without proper permissions on protected land (look here).

LOL, you could not invent such stories!!

Come on!!! He is way above Pasha.. he is aiming for Sultan at least
I said "at least" because media had been reporting some of his worshippers to a degree of blasphemy and he has not rebuked them
