Earlier before the Kosher shop situation started, the news reported that 88,000 personnel were searching for the brothers.

All I could think of was this:

In September 1985 the islamic fanatic maniacs of Islamic Liberation Organization kidnapped 4 Soviet diplomats, (the USSR embassy remained open during the unrest, one of the rare ones) demanding that the USSR stops immediately the support of Asad (not the current one, his daddy) and they killed 1 diplomat and hung him on a tree (or a light, can't remember) with threats that they will kill all of them unless Moscow cooperates.

The answer from Moscow came in rather quickly. They sent in their special "Thunder" squad and within 24 hours russian inteligence found out the names of all the kidnappers. Next day kidnappers received an answer from Moscow, a box full of photos taken hostage of each and every family member of the kidnappers, wifes, kids everybody and for the leader of the kidnappers there was a special bag which containedhis father's genitals and throat cut with a knife.

The message attached in perfect Arabic, said unless they give up immediately and release the diplomats, the russians will kill every each and one family member of the terrorist the same way the did the father of the leader of the group. If they release the diplomats the lifes of their family members will be spared, but not their own, for Moscow the kidnappers were already dead men.

The same afternoon, the remaining 3 diplomats were released. The terrorist group gave up and surrendered. To this day their fate is unknown, all we know is that they haven't been since ever since.

This was the FIRST AND LAST attempt of a islamist gang to even try to terrorize Moscow. And this is how you deal with terrorist.

The west invested heavily in these same terrorist to overturn legitimate (well, here and there, way more legitimate than today's one) government in the middle east and now the same wits they sponsored, gave weapons trained etc are appearing in center Paris during daylight play GTA, what is worrying for me is this won't be the last and certainly this is just the beginning.

Re: France: Charlie Hebdo Office shootings

Further news: 9 people have been arrested in connection with these attacks. Saw that the Eiffel Tower was supposedly being evacuated a little while ago on one of the TV channels, but can't see it now so maybe a false alarm and Charles de Gaulle airport has closed 2 runways and some flights are diverted as the airport is near the first hostage site.

2 people being reported killed at the supermarket site by BBC. Gunman there has been linked to the two at the printing shop site and is also suspected of being the third gunman at the Charlie Hebdo attack.

The guy in the Kosher grocery at Vincennes is indeed threatening to kill all his hostages if the police go in and attack the guys in the printing warehouse.

I don't think this actually proves they are actually in contact but it could be.

It's going to take some tactical thinking by the police.

The Trocaedro has since been reopened, so maybe that was a false alert, or a totally unconnected incident.
So cutting of the communication link between the two would take care of that. But it would be good to sit back a while and observe their communication patterns. No need to rush.

this was widely reported in one variant or another in the US for years, and the source of the information was almost always Israeli intelligence (who may have had their own motive for leaking such a story). I think it's generally accepted that a relative of one of the terrorists was threatened, though it has never been clear whether that was actually by the Russians (through the KGB) or through local Syrian forces (most people probably believe the latter).

anyway, the story is almost without question a gross embellishment of real events, although I find no fault with the notion of arresting family members of the individuals who commit these horrible acts (if they have any family members, of course).

It will all conclude around 20.00 tonight. Live on the evening news.
If it's a co-ordinated thing.

Not least for our Muslim relatives, friends and colleagues all over the world- but especially in France- where they've been having a very hard time anyhow, Oldhand.

What a load of made-up bollocks. The kidnapping incident did happen, but am still trying to figure out how one puts a cut throat in a bag.

And thank you so much for suggesting that terror would be prevented by using Soviet style methods.

Somehow I feel those murdered cartoonists, if there is a heaven, would be composing a cartoon about you and suchlike right now.

Absolutely, but now is not the time to discuss. French 'Beur' (arabs) from ex-colonies from North Africa, often 2nd, 3rd generations, born in France- are too often treated like 3rd class citizens in France- unable to access good education, apprenticeships, jobs, accommodation apart from high-rise in limited areas, loans, etc, and discriminated in so many other ways too. And young beurs constantly harrassed by the police.

Very different to the great tolerance shown in the UK.
