| | Re: France: Charlie Hebdo Office shootings | Quote: | | | | | Yeah, I see you have as much trouble with diversity and free speech.
Unlike humorist satire, FoxNews is more like action-adventure satire in the tone of Jack Bauer 24. I wouldn't call it news. It is editorial and infotainment. But as such, it does bring up valid points and questions that are not addressed by the Government's talking point. It is just as essential we also have these in a democracy. Would you like gunmen to attack there too? | | | | | Well I get your point about free speech. But for me, advocating hatred and requesting the indiscriminate killing of whomever may be considered, for whatever reason, by whomever- should not really be part of so called free speech. Judge Janine, in her violent tirade, was advocating just that. She did remind me of the histerical hate speeches made by Hitler and others. Did you see it? Perhaps someone could re-post it here.
It is tempting in her case, but no, I would not like gunmen to attack her or Fox News. But forgive me for strongly believing that talking to people who truly believe Fox News is the only source of truth, is seriously worrying, to say the least. And 100 of 1000s believe that, Tea Party and more.
I rarely agree with David Cameron, but I was glad to hear that even him 'choked on his porridge' when hearing the rubbish and lies vomitted out by Fox news.

So I wonder if that is in fact what she did, or is it what you construed she did. Otherwise, there would be lawyers crawling over them, and this is a for profit enterprise. They couldn't afford such a thing. Do you have a link?
By the way, I don't know of anyone believing FoxNews is the only source of truth. FoxNews is not a totalitarian religion.

Wow, that was totally unhinged. Advocating the indiscriminate killing of people is illegal, and should definitely be prosecuted. Is that happening? If not, why not?
Your link does not include the beginning, so I can't tell the context of her speech. She let out some pent-up frustrations about the situation. Its what happens when you suppress voices. In the midst of all the garbage, there were a couple of points she did make.
The beauty of free speech is it allows you to know where someone stands. It also allows you to track what your adversaries are thinking. In her case, she's a cartoon character muppet.
We have due processes. If she let out hate speech that is illegal, she should definitely be held accountable and prosecuted.

Personally, I found it rather refreshing. For once, it was about the rest of the world. America seems to crowd the limelight when they appear.
America: this is not about you, it's about us. I'm not sure if Americans understand that concept yet. | | | | | Who is "us" exactly? I thought the unity march was for everyone opposed to extremist violence? | The following 2 users would like to thank esto for this useful post: | |

I can't imagine FoxNews recklessly skirting the law at the risk of such massive financial loss.
I wouldn't mind seeing Murdoch go broke. I like seeing the arrogant humbled.

The world would be a rather creepy place if we all believed in the same thing and acted in the exact same ways, wouldn't it? In fact, I think that's what religion itself has tried to achieve. | Quote: | | | | | If it could be proved that someone killed some other because of her speech, couldn't FoxNews be sued in a class-action for damages? | | | | | So we agree that the media has the ability to incite violence?

I have to hand it to them, however, finding a Lebanese christian to be their Islamocritic of the week is a stroke of genius.

Pakistan behaves like one of the worst Arab countries - blasphemy laws, corruption, arbitrary borders, lack of democracy..
