No Fruit for UK School Kids

And this short article caught my eye:

The EU is to spend over 150m on a School Fruit Scheme in the next school term. Seemed like a good idea until I came to the line:

I'm left wondering why? is there something wrong with the fruit.... is DC afraid it might impact the result of any referendum he would hold....

Maybe Gideon Osborn is still hoping to reduce the nation debt whilst presenting his Budget speech.

This interesting though they are opting out of something positive.... it would make a good question for parliament - if only Alex Salmond was there:

"Will the minister explain why Scottish children are being deprived of their fruit allowance?"

Why would those countries want to spend money on fruit for kids in another country? If the UK opted in wouldn't they have to do the same for all kids in the UK? Why would Swedish people care if Irish kids were eating healthy? Why does the EU come up with silly ideas when other basic rights are not dealt with properly & why do they think they can dictate to all the member countries on issues which are not of international importance?
