the irony of this statement coming from Bill Maher just made my day.
Exactly, who'd know better than him

Nothing more than EF armchair diplomats disagreeing. Israel is still on the map last time I checked but my head has been in the sand the last few days so I know nothing.

The thawing of relations between Iran and the US has also been nice to see... and to think the Republicans want to throw it all away {sigh}

How do you feel, Hoppy? Would you go back to Iran now that things are going to improve?

The NAIC aware very active here, but lost Iranians are very wary of getting involved in any political Iranian group, they may be a little too business biased for me.
It will be interesting up see how long Saudi Arabia can keep the oil prices low, Houston is feeling it.
I aim to read this woman's book http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articl...n-s-oil-future

It would be good if people like her would come back home, isn't it? I think that people from diaspora can change a lot of things.

Re: Iran nuclear talks: 'Historic' agreement struck

Hi Greenmount!
I was supposed to go over xmas but waited for the sanctions yo be lifted first, so hope to go after Nooruz. The Iranian press are really downplaying it and apparently people are not out in the streets celebrating in Iran. They say that any benefits wil be slow to come because of the price of oil, but I think they are underestimating this; the increasing trade must have a trickle down effect.
the problem is that it means more money coming into he country, so Iranian businesses will get very competitive. I hope it doesn't get nasty. I'm just glad to stay out of it. I'll be a submissive woman keep my head down and headscarf on!
I can't live there as I have asthma. A real benefit would be good refinery infrastructure, thuis would immediately improve people's health and living conditions, and the supply of medecine. oH and airplane parts and . . .

Well, they might be right to not start celebrating yet but let's hope for the best.
I wish you a nice holiday when you go, enjoy your time there!
Btw, I don't know why but I can't picture you as a submissive woman...

Re: Iran nuclear talks: 'Historic' agreement struck

If Iran actually gave up on Nuclear bomb aspirations than this can be good for Israel - especially as no Israeli lives were lost or put in risk in the process.

Iran is currently militarily involved in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Gaza - A lot of the money will be directed towards it and not to improve the lives Iranians.

With the addition of Iranian oil the price of oil will continue to stay very low, which is good for the global, especially western, economies and not so good for the Producers (mostly Muslim dictatorships and russia).

Re: Iran nuclear talks: 'Historic' agreement struck

3 Anericans have gone missing in Iraq. my mind immediately jumps to blaming ISIS, if so then this is a situation where Iran can help. Iran has helped the US before to counter Sunni Extremism, hopefully they can help now.
