Whats going on ? Conversion rate 1 CHF to 1.45 AUS. One year ago it was one to one.

What happened to South African ZAR? In 2012 the exchange rate was CHF1=ZAR8.5 and in 2015 CHF1=ZAR14. They say that's the emerging markets are being affected by slowdown in Asia. There must be more to it though than strength of Franc only.

We are really hitting difficult times.

I'm certainly not complaining, it now takes half the time to pay our bond off back home!

I wouldn't even bother with bond repayment. We just pay everything in cash. It's a good time now.

Here is an article about SA's property market. Although it may be seen by some as a propaganda, my personal feeling is that it still makes lot of sense.

I know! We bought a place in Italy which settles this Friday. We are wishing we transferred the money from Australia when we signed the contract back in March . !!!
