I thought Louise Brown was first test tube baby

Isn't it about time Abraham thought about a vasectomy ?
Maybe all the science labs have since decayed and no trace is left of them? Maybe in those days (what, about 5000+ years ago?) there were no words to describe a test tube?

I mean, really, who actually "believed" the "virgin birth" story? Her parents? And so legends are born.

I think when Elvis died, God left the building.

West from Middle east.
I`ve been wondering for a while what happened to the Near East? When I was a lad it was on the maps and I still hear it on the German radio.

To put it short, any "god" who told me to kill my son would have the police on his ass asap.
He'd be in deep s**t, the next option - "only joking, I'll just chuck a sheep in a thorn bush and set fire to it instead" - wouldn't go down so well either

it was fine when my reputation felled down so fast after posting a sincere question, it doesnt matter until Today only left this comment on the reputation.

Today only Public forum, bollocks to you too (and your God)

where are forum admins or just mention englishforum is only for jokes and nonsense.
The bad reputation is for trying to tell people what to say - as were the red blobs I also donated.

You asked for people's opinions - the fact most of them are scathing, incredulous and / or dimissive are all indications of:

* How EF works

* What many people think of religion in general

* What people actually think about this topic

If you don't like it, go elsewhere, but don't tell people to "stay on track" !!

Was that the first recorded incidence of a caesarian section?

No, I think that the first well recorded C-section was performed in Switzerland. (I do not lie.)
Sometime in the 17th C. if my memory serves me well.

Religious studies/questions are for pussies. Who needs friends when God's on your side?
Why are cats the only ones to enjoy religious studies?

ok, this was a sincere question for religious people

Caramelised, you and I both know that this question - given your previous history on this forum - is not sincere. If the question was genuinely directed at Christians, why didn't you say so? Why this "west" bollocks? And then this "Europe" cobblers?

What, exactly, are you getting at, Caramelised? Where is this leading?

And why only for religious people? Particularly when you're asking why a certain thing isn't celebrated, surely they'd be well placed to answer for a large part of the population?

Although as a counter example, I celebrate Christmas because it's a party and you get time off, not due to religion.

Personally, I think Frodo destroying the One Ring in Mt. Doom should be celebrated worldwide...
In my household, it is. We watch all three extended editions once a year, around the time of Saturnalia.

When Abraham was tested for fulfillment of God's command, Abraham was successful in the test and no binding was occurred.

This event is celebrated by muslims known as Eid al-Adha

This event is also mentioned in bible and Torah but why it is not celebrated at all in west?

lets discuss

It is celebrated by Christians (sort of). In a big way even.

The Christian interpretation just has a different slant.

Think about it.

Why is this even in International Affairs/Politics?

Perhaps it would have been well placed 3-4 thousand years ago, but today it belongs in jokes/funnies.

C-sections go WAYYYYY back, recorded by the Romans and beyond, but the mother was usually either already dead or died in the procedure. The first well recorded C-section where the mother survived in Switzerland in 1580, by a pig gelder no less.

I'd love to contribute to this thread but I ditched Religious Education for Home Economics.
