Re: Shootings and the explosions in Paris

Holy crap, just watching the video footage on ITV news, people staggering out of the theatre shot, and others hanging off of window ledges... by our Western coddled standards this is horrendous and completely surreal.

... Cuba, as well, had better rebuild the mosques Columbus saw or face the consequences.
The Jews were already there long before that. Hell, Jesus Christ himself spent a bit of time in America well before Mohammed started to spread his gospel. If only everyone would start to follow the All-American Prophet Joseph Smith, all of this nonsense could come to an end.

Oh there you go, the polygamy of Islam with the licentiousness of Christianity. The best of both worlds.

I asked my wife about it, and she wouldn't go for it. Thanks anyway.

Re: Shootings and the explosions in Paris

I just searched for hate-fueled self righteous banter on the net, specifically from the conservative mainstream US news sites. I was surprised to find mostly objective commentary about how such a situation has been formed and what steps we can take to change things. Very few calls for violent action. Even Fox news had a level head. The only mention I could find of the terrorists being 'evil' came from John Kerry.

Come to think of it, there are more calls for violent action from posters on this thread than on Fox!

Sorry to hear your Facebook 'friends' are advocating violence, Odile.

And then contrast that to Hollande, who is eerily sounding like G.W. Bush.

If people think Conservatives are awful when they go to war, you ought to examine what leftists do and how they go to war.

Be careful what you wish for. With CDU/CSU polling as they are, a snap election may well bring in Gabriel as Chancellor. If that happens, you ain't seen nothing yet.
Nah... I was up in Waldshut today... apparently there was a fight on the street last night involving 300 "refugees"... they've had enough there as well...

No illuminati necessary: just bare faced profiteering and politicians with big ideas and a deep disdain for dirty democracy.
So then I was right? You think Russia is at the root of it?

http://m.sputniknews.com/trend/russian_arms_export/

They are getting hard up for money since oil prices crashed, war in the ME could boost arms sales and raise oil prices at the same time. Pretty shrewd.

OK, foil hat off, it was probably the boring, obvious Islamic jihadists, there's no shortage of
them. But I admit, the foil hat is more fun

Apparently the US have killed the ISIS leader in a strike that was planned before the Paris killings http://edition.cnn.com/2015/11/14/po...cks/index.html

Agreed, but in the same way that our Western, Christian values aren't so offended by the fact that so many innocent bystanders get killed by drone strikes in the mideast in the name of fighting the 'evil barbarians' or whatever moniker one wants to give them. 'We' have killed many more innocents from their culture(s) as they have from ours. It's just an accepted aspect of war. We can call it 'collateral damage' in doublespeak, but it's still murder. The west's 'shock and awe' campaigns aren't so much different than terrorist attacks. Just more organized, with more firepower and a different media slant.
I think you miss my point which was theoretically speaking the perpetrators cannot claim their heavenly rewards if they have been killing innocent people.
My assumption is that the suicide bombers (definitely 7 of the 8) were taking on this role because of expecting such rewards?

About "'We' have killed many more innocents from their culture(s) as they have from ours." I very much doubt that. Do you have a source for that? How many innocent people have they murdered in Syria and Iraq? Why do you think people are fleeing in their millions?
It is estimated at least 100,000 civilians have been killed in Syria; you claim that "we" killed most of them? Excuse me!

Telegraph now reports :

Hopefully this will force Merkel to resign... slim chance but still...
Should be easy enough to check if any of the terrorists came in as refugees; they are all supposed to be fingerprinted and entered into the Eurodac fingerprint database.

BBC News said that at least one was a Syrian refugee who arrived via Greece

They think they got the Libyan ISIS head, Al-Baghdadi in Syria/Iraq is still at large.
I guess he would be worth capturing and putting on trial, as opposed to killing him.

Oh,I know that area well. I'll have to ask my acquaintances there about it. Were there any biker gangs involved? Let me know if you have a link please.

I recall that the early waves (a year or so ago) arriving in Greece and Italy were not fingerprinted. They were allowed to make their way north so that if they are returned further along their trek, there is no evidence where they should be returned to as their first point on EU entrance. They were also unexpected so there were no systems set up in the early days. I saw after a few month's the Greek were taking photos of the new arrivals and maybe writing a few notes in Greek but nothing entered into a database. Not sure what the systems in place are now.

I am worried about what happens in Germany if there is a similar attack after Germany's generosity. Also next year is the Euro 2016 football tournament in France!

France perhaps didn't seem to learn enough from the Charlie Hebdo attacks. A few leaders walked down the Rue in front of the cameras to show solidarity. There should be real gap-analysis of what the authorities have and haven't been changing in the meantime.
In both events, the assailants were known to the French authorities.
