Am I allowed to dislike Islam?

And if you love it so much then why not move to an Islamic country?

Fill your boots. IRL I'm zero tolerance on bigotry and have no issue with calling it out and accepting the consequences. So my question is...Do you just dislike Islam online, or do you speak up IRL too?

That's a banal response and you know it. The parallel would be, if you don't like how Europe really is, why don't you leave? How does that make you feel?

Allowed to dislike it? Sure, knock yourself out.
Allowed to blame muslims for all the terrible things in the world, despite having no facts or evidence? No. that isnt preferential treatment, thats just common decency.

I dont love it fyi :-) I nothing it. Im quite happy for them to do their thing as long as it doesnt inconvenience me doing my thing. And, by and large, they're quite happy to do their thing without inconveniencing me doing my thing.

Honestly, hate is just so exhausting, as far as emotional baggage goes. You'll feel much better once you get over it.

And culturally, what continental group does Switzerland belong to?

Our Friend KK made a judgement based on incomplete data, knowing it was incomplete. He didn't care that he was leveling a grievous accusation against an entire people, nor did he give a damn about the consequences. As far as he was concerned, this was another opportunity to blame those people for something terrible, and therefore justify his obviously disgusting attitude to said people.

KK was hoping to be able to climb onto his (metaphorical) rooftop and shout to the world "See! these people are evil savages! Everything negative I've said about them in the past is true!". So eager was KK to shout this message, that he didn't spend a few minutes waiting for even the semblance of any facts, and so, he now finds himself in a quandary with his racism blatantly exposed.

See where he says 'more fool to me' instead of offering any form of apology and/or indication that he will better himself?
Despite knowing that he did not know the facts, he assumed the guilt on people who had literally nothing to do with the event. And, now that the facts have been pointed out to him, no apology will follow, nor will there be any retrospective soul searching or pondering on why he hates muslims the way he does. There will be no attempt at self-improvement. Just a pithy 'more fool to me'. Im sure the many people who have been falsely accused of such crimes will feel that is not an adequate response.

In much the same way that people historically blamed jews for various things that were not their fault, and which we now call blatant racism, our KK over here is guilty of the very same offence.

Notice how he calls it 'inconceivable' that it could not be Muslims, even after it was pointed out that there was zero evidence? That isn't just racism, that is ingrained racism, and a willful blindness to reality.

Enjoy your week, everyone.

While it is important to expose every case of racism - modern or not - if you expect an apology or a change of mind from those people you will probably wait for ever. That said, no reason to give up trying, just limit the expectation of direct improvement. The indirect improvement is already worth the effort.

The "shoot first, asked later" has become socially acceptable thanks to FB, Twitter & Co. The standard now seems to be, the speed is what matters, not the content. And the worst bit about this is, that people normally don't need to review their actions as thanks to the speed most around them have moved on and the "fauxpas" (to put it mildly) is forgotten .... the person "got away with it".
Except on a forum like EF, where most people still think before they write.
Thanks for your post. Being a antipole is all we can be yet I believe that is not as insignificant as it sounds.

I disagree.
I'm actually quite surprised we disagree here.

I somewhat agree with you there - but I also wonder if their numbers were to grow larger if they would remain content to do their thing without inconveniencing me doing my thing?

Actually at the time KK posted the data in question was already available (I checked). He/she simply didn't bother looking.

Looking bears the risk of facts not suiting the prejudice.
Very risky, indeed.

Their numbers are already beyond the critical mass, where if they wished to impose their thing upon me, they would be doing so already.

They want to eat a different kind of meat? Fine, as long as they dont prevent me from getting and eating my type.
They want to wear different clothes? fine, as long as i can still wear what i want.
They want to gather in special buildings and pray their special way? fine, as long as i can gather in the buildings that i want to gather in and do as i please there.
They want to speak their language? fine, as long as they dont insist that i do as well.

I've no reason to be afraid of a bunch of people who pray to a figure that i dont. In many ways they support my community and i'm grateful that they do.

Plenty of my kind have, historically, done far worse to them then a few of their kind have done to a few of my kind. The only difference is that my kind called it empire-building or colonisation or whatever.

All that history ended up making things far worse than they needed to be. I have no intention of continuing that cycle.

Someone else has said this BS somewhere else on the forum - if the Muslims in Europe wanted to flex their muscles on the Europeans they would be annihilated.
Europeans are pretty good at the whole war thing if you hadn't noticed.

Oh, just like in all the Muslim-majority countries right? How’s that freedom of religion working out for minorities?

What on earth are you talking about? Who's going to war? I just looked outside my window and can confirm that the Muslims have not invaded Aargau.

Nobody is talking about conquest of Europe here, apart from a few crazy morons on the fringe of the right wing, who believe there is some mad conspiracy about muslims conquering europe by manipulating the birth rate. You mentioned 'inconveniencing others'. Do you think that that excludes everything but war?

We're not talking about the Muslim majority countries, we're talking about Europe, where most countries are either secular or not that bothered about their state religions.

Are your your arms tired from moving those goalposts to basically the other side of the world?

And if a European country, CH hypothetically, was to become a Muslim majority country?

I think it would be fundamentally different, and not for the better.

There's absolutely no way that CH or any other Western European country could suddenly, or even over the course of several generations, shift to being majority Muslim.

Why do you keep banging on about this? We get it, you're a raging Islamophobe, why do you feel the need to keep reminding us?

Separation of church and state does wonders.
