1. Non-Muslims make up the majority of terrorists in the United States: ... According to this same report, there were more Jewish acts of terrorism in the United States than Islamic,... less than 0.0002% of Americans killed since 9/11 were killed by Muslims. ... the average American is more likely to be crushed to death by their couch or television than they are to be killed by a Muslim. ... Americans were more likely to be killed by a toddler in 2013 than they were by a so-called “Muslim terrorist”.... There have been 355 mass shootings in the United States this year ...

As an American Muslim,
And we, in Switzerland, should give a monkey's because...?

This means that an American terrorist suspect is over nine times more likely to be a non-Muslim than a Muslim.
This in itself is scary.

A group comprising less than 1 percent of the population is responsible for about 11% of terrorist attacks. Very reassuring.

Because, as you say, Bith men have a cult following revolving around good looks and charm, both an have lots of grand ideas, both men can talk the talk and get people excited over grand words and meaningless promises, both men are incorrigible statists, great men sent by God to lead the mass of unworthy fools, but when it comes down to delivering on all that, they fail and blame others.
Ah, you're right. Let's have more patience with the little one though..

So what? Why should anyone in Switzerland care who is shooting whom on an entirely different continent?

Because it's the "International affairs/politics" section, with many threads about shootings etc in other countries? In a thread specifically about Muslim terrorism?

While I'm sure you know exactly what you mean inside your head, sometimes when you put it down on virtual paper something seems to get lost in translation. This is one of those moments where perhaps only you seem to know what the chuff you are talking about.

Because most discussions on the EF have now't to do with stuff wot affects us personally. We all enjoy our soapbox and grandstanding about what's wrong with other people or their country or religion or cow bells or brown sugar or whatever, innit?

Some good news from a report issued today
That does seem incredible since only last year the German commissioner for refugees stated that :
Quote:
Up to three quarters of Germany’s refugees will still be unemployed in five years’ time, according to a government minister, in a stark admission of the challenges the country faces in integrating its huge migrant population.

Aydan Özoğuz, commissioner for immigration, refugees and integration, told the Financial Times that only a quarter to a third of the newcomers would enter the labour market over the next five years, and “for many others we will need up to 10”.

The admission could prove awkward for Angela Merkel as she seeks a fourth term as chancellor in Bundestag elections this September.
I wonder if it's Merkel's attempts to put out a good news story to distract from the huge asylum corruption story in Bremen which has now widened to involve the federal police :
Quote:
The Federal Criminal Police are now part of the inquiry into 1,200 suspect asylum cases. The Bremen refugee office has been stripped of its authority over allegations of bribery and a cover-up.

A politician issued a statement full of lies! How unusual!

You can read the full report here, in German!

That Bremen story has been rolling for a couple of months now so it is a bit late to offer a distraction now!

Not that Merkel knew about what happened there - front page of DW this morning
and even BILD.

Angela Merkel knew of problems at BAMF refugee agency: report
The ex-head of Germany's refugee agency has alleged he told Angela Merkel about the excessive demands placed on staff. A BAMF official is facing allegations she received bribes in exchange for processing asylum requests.

I already provided this evidence in my link to IAB

According to your link Merkel was informed about problems with the refugee agency in 2016 and your theory is that this drove Merkel to issuing a positive IAB report in the middle of 2018

One weakness in your theory is that the IAB issue a report on refugees and their employment every month so that report for May was business as usual.
You can read all the past reports in the link I already provided.

Not in Germany it isn't.

As is often the case with this type of story, the right wing fringe picked it up first and it took some time to percolate into the mainstream press. As facts slowly emerged showing it wasn't just a conspiracy story.

Politicians know that if you deny something, you actually add credence to it. And quite often this type of stories come and go without causing much damage or anybody being any the wiser. Add to that Merkel's trademark ability to ignore things until they go away.

But as with the events in Cologne on New Year's Eve some years ago, there comes a point that it becomes clear that the story won't go away by itself, so even a weathered politician needs to jump into the muddied waters and try to take sides.

It was an update on the ongoing story!

Besides, I figured you'd want to hear the good news.
