An SVP parliamentarian was interviewed on a TV talk show last night. They were talking about the new ban on Burka. He was saying that some children saw someone in a Burka and were terrified. He said this is another reason to ban it. I know of some people who were afraid when they first saw a black person. These SVP are all retarded.

Children are very sensitive to facial expressions and learning judge them is very important to their development.
The flip side of the argument is that no woman wearing a Burka would ever be allowed work in a school, so it it's irrelevant when discussing a ban. What you wear in private is no business of the state, however I think private companies, schools, state employers etc. should be free to impose a ban if they wish.

If someone wears a Burka then you dont even see their facial expression? And when you let private companies etc do as they want then it could get even worse.Which is evident in state of the world today. | Quote: | | | | | It's normal that children are scared of people who cover their face. Private companies should be free to implement whatever racist or religious agenda they see fit? Perhaps states should hand over free speech or voting rights to the private sector.
Perhaps I have completely misunderstood what you are trying to say... I hope so.

You can't be an effective teacher when your face is covered. You can't conduct effective negotiations if you look like a Ringwraith.

It is simply indefensible, baffling even, to suggest that anyone with their face covered should be allowed to teach in Western schools.
