Steve-O's Seaworld Protest

Not so great for the firefighters who were dispatched for his safety, but the stunt likely generated some publicity for the cause of animals in captivity. He was supposed to be jailed for 30 days and somehow ended up being sent home after 8h.

One hopes that it's a mistake and they'll call him back for the rest of his sentence, or that maybe he'll at least be sent a bill for the firemen's time.

Does it really take several fire engines and a dozen or so police officer in the case that a professional stuntman decides to climb a crane? Would one cop waiting at the bottom of the crane for him to come down not be enough?

Re: Steve-O's Seaworld Protest

Thanks to overcrowded LA correctional facilities, he got away with a 1'500$ fine. Apparetly there were 80 firemen and a helicopter :O

Many killer whale shows across the US will be permanently closed by the end of next year, though the company already has new killer whale show ideas to rebrand them as an ethically conscious corporation that focuses on conservation and rescue. How they want to argue that forcing orcas to work in unnatural environments represents a conservation effort is beyond me.

In CA, breeding orcas that live in captivity is banned and Seaworld claims it will not capture new ones.

An Us Seaworld originally planned to build a large marine environment but regulations and financial barriers are big hurdles.
