Why stop at chemical? Physical castration so they can never do it again followed by deportation. Most of these attacks were not random results from celebrating and drinking, but planned robberies/seuxal assaults.

German police chief is going to resign over the attacks I've just seen flash up on the Beeb website. I assume it's the Cologne chief of police.

Of course crime happens in large cities. Nobody disputes that. But what happened in Köln was unprecedented in recent EU history. And not only in Köln, but other EU cities as well... I don't hear many people saying "well, it's business as usual, so just deal with it"

Interestingly, the German government just confirmed that 18 of 32 people arrested were refugees.

None of the refugees were arrested for sexual assault or rape. Primarily Theft.

So, remind me of the evidence you have that said 1000s of refugees are raping women in Cologne?

Only a few incidents reached rape. No evidence for the others. Eyewitnesses and police reported the numbers. So they didn't get around to raping everybody, but they were in effect terrorizing them.

There should be a version of Godwins Law, except one that relates to Terrorism rather than nazism.

To be fair, it was only a matter of time before refugees and terrorism was linked, no matter how tenuously.

He is not going to resign, he was kicked out the hard way with immediate effect. The major of Cologne used the announcement to double down how disappointed she was about the way the police informed both her as well as the public. The police chief finds his removal "absurd".

That's not the normal way for Germany to resolve a disagreement like this one...

It kind of is - he lost his job because of media pressure, and the better course would have been to review his position after this whole situation had been settled.
