I'm playing catch up at the moment. | | | | | Will look again, but 'twas a pic I saw when flicking through the news channels yesterday whilst struggling with a school homework maths question and trying to open a packet of spaghetti. I then settled for Classic FM to calm us all down, cos I was stressed.. but then Boris has that effect on me, and the maths didn't help..
Sorry, what was the question again? | This user would like to thank for this useful post: | |

B. Johnson's dad and brother were at the launch with him yesterday. So their pics/images would've been on most of the channels.
I'd say the remain brother has appeased the middle ground in the party and that is why he was there. If so, Boris is on the home stretch.. |

And you? | | | | | Tobias Ellwood but he has more sense than to run. Even so, with things kicking off in Hong Kong, I want Ellwood as Defence Minister.

And you? | | | | | Yes, he would be good. He has integrity and common sense. He cares and can bring people together.
But he doesn't stand a chance.
TBH I'm not rooting for anybody right now. I don't believe there is a silver bullet or magic formula that will save the situation, either way. What we need is a middle ground candidate who can reconcile the different positions rather than divide them further. I don't see anybody who is an obvious position to both win the contest and do that, but I'm hoping that such is human nature that they may well rise to the chalelnge neverthless.

| | Re: The Brexit referendum thread: potential consequences for GB, EU and the Brits in | Quote: | | | | It has surprised me that the likes of BoJo and Gove are chucking their hats in the ring at this stage. I'd have thought they'd have gone for PM once Brexit is sorted, and they'd let someone else have their political career sliced and diced in the meantime. | | | | | Clearly like Thatcher they believe they are unto the job. BBC documentary on Lady T was very interesting.
