I know quite a few cases. After today are they illegal? Do they need to leave the EU asap? | | | | | I suspect they can remain in the EU/Schengen for 90 days from 1 January. After that they will have to leave. It’s up to them where they go, as long it’s not another EU/Schengen country. Of course Ireland may be different.

The Schengen rights are for the purpose of tourism and if asked by the authorities you are required to be able identify yourself and demonstrate that you are a genuine tourist. Probably a good idea to hold on to things like hotel receipts, train tickets etc while on a trip.

So I think they can continue but not leave and then renter and do the same.

| | Re: The Brexit referendum thread: potential consequences for GB, EU and the Brits in | Quote: | | | | | Even a lot of ardent Europhiles can see the EU is insufficiently Democratic . A President who wields significant power who is unelected. The only elected body having very little power.
If a developing part of the world had a Von Der Leyen the West would call them a dictator. How can the people get rid of her if they think she's done a bad job? They can't
Yes I know she's "indirectly elected", but so is President Xi. It's not enough. Not a personal attack on her - just the rotten system that views the electorate as something to be bypassed. | | | | | Precisely. The European Parliament can't even initiate legislation. The EP can only request the Commission to submit a legislative proposal. Rotten indeed.

Being stamped in and out does not indicate your activity.... that was why I suggested not tossing receipts etc until after your trip.

Yes, it's amazing how things can seem when you don't take the time to educate yourself and understand the reasons why that is the favored approach among the member states.
And of course the fact that we have documented evidence under the FOI, of both the Queen and the Prince of Wales interfering with the operation of parliament in the UK is fine is it?

Depends on individual countries and your work situation. I read somewhere that Malta among others will require a visa even for short business travel.
Edit: https://twitter.com/simoncalder/stat...184031233?s=21
“This has consequences for UK business visitors to some countries. The general principle of 90 days’ travel in any 180 is overridden in Cyprus, Denmark, Hungary and Malta. According to p751, they will need a work permit "in case the short-term business visitor supplies a service”.

This will be a completely alien situation for many and they risk temporary bans from the EU if they fall foul of the rules. | Quote: | | | | You may need a visa, work permit or other documentation if you’re planning to stay for longer than 90 days in a 180-day period, or if you’ll be doing any of the following: - transferring from the UK branch of a company to a branch in a different country (‘intra-corporate transfer’), even for a short period of time
- carrying out contracts to provide a service to a client in another country in which your employer has no presence
- providing services in another country as a self-employed person
- Check the entry requirements and rules of the country you’re visiting to find out if you need a visa or work permit.

Whilst it's been some years since I studied EU Law, I am aware that the EP's workings differ from sovereign parliaments for what may be legitimate reasons, ostensibly at least. However, this does not obviate the fact that the EU's institutional architecture is fundamentally anti-democratic.
