I am no fan of Johnson but the confected outrage by Guardianistas spreading half truths if not fake news is becoming more and more tiresome.
Where has truthful reporting gone to?

Where has truthful reporting gone to? | | | | | And the BBCstas and everyone else who reported it.
The ambassador is a diplomat, what did you expect him to do given the circumstances? The comparison was idiotic and offensive for the EU let alone Ukraine. Of course, not something worth making a big deal out of it, we're used to even worse things coming from that direction. But like, just saying... | The following 3 users would like to thank greenmount for this useful post:

Where has truthful reporting gone to? | | | | | When you feel obligated to defend such stupidity you really should think about how it reflects on you and your country.
All over the world politicians are engaged in the game of winning over voters, but none of them so far as reported have managed to come out with such stupidity. It should make you wonder about the caliber of the man and his advisers…. Most choose to remain silent… so why do you feel the needed declare: I’m in the corner with stupid?
By itself it would not make much difference if it was an isolated instance, but is not, it happens day by day, week by week… of course news media exaggerate to sell their products, but he is giving them the ammunition to take the shots!

Still parroting their crazy Russian Brexit conspiracy theories. | | | | | At this point in time you have successfully placed yourself in the same corner as Boris, so your clams serve to confirm rather than deny the situation.
If you had tried to defend it with a factual rebuff using actual quotes from the speech etc… you might gain a little credibility…
Bu when all you got is ‘Guardian is bad’, all you do is confirm our expectations.
Do you seriously think for instance that an 80k contribution by Lubov Chernukhin to the Tory party and reported by them does not have consequences? At the very least it shows incredible stupidity in high office and is an indication that the country deserves a better caliber of representative.

It's been going on since politics has been a thing. If you think a declared 80k political contribution is cause for concern, have a look at how much the Russians spent to get Nordstream 2 over the line, or how much Russia has sent to green activists and political parties to assist in their campaigning against Fracking. Even the UK reserves 0.5% of her GDP for overseas development aid, which is little more than a lobbying slush fund!
Whilst I believe that lobbying is an issue, and needs to be regulated more closely, to link a political donation to somehow being under Russian influence is pure tin foil hat stuff!
Back in the real world the Kremlin today has just said today that Boris Johnson is the "the most active anti-Russia leader". No doubt the FBPE truthers will put this down to a false flag operation https://finance.yahoo.com/news/kreml...112300213.html

You forgot to repost this Brexit failure that you incorrectly attributed to coronavirus measures | Quote: | | | | | The UK had their spring Financial Statement yesterday. Here are the main takeaways:
Biggest income drop since the 1950s
Tax burden the highest since the 1940s
Inflation to hit 9%
Servicing the national debt has hit a whopping £83 billion, soon to be more than what the country spends on defense.
This picture is going to reflected across almost all of the developed world.
Now we're seeing a deliberate narrative shift to blame this economic crisis on the war in Ukraine. This simply isn't correct, whilst this obviously exacerbates the situation, it was already going to happen.
The catastrophic state of our economies whereby the cost of living crisis has already begun, was caused by the biggest public health mistake ever. Anyone who called for the lockdowns has no place to complain about the pain which is to come!! | | | | | | This user would like to thank marton for this useful post:

I'm well aware of what goes on when it comes to political lobbying, I've been involved in running political campaigns and conducted fraud investigations including this one: Jail threat to Ireland's old masters. There is nothing that would shock me at this stage.
The only surprising things are that the Tory party was dumb enough to report it and you feel obligated to defend it. And you take it as read that if the Kremlin says Boris is problematic it must be true.

I can give you a couple of famous recent examples.
When the British people voted for Brexit in such large numbers, I don’t believe it was because they were remotely hostile to foreigners.
It’s because they wanted to be free, to do things differently and for this country to be able to run itself. | | | | | A gift to his opponents really. He should have known how it would be interpreted. I'm entirely disinterested in him and his party, but I still think his speech was ill-judged at the very least.

This can be observed by President Zelensky and other senior members of the Ukrainian administration praising UK assistance, whilst begging EU states do to more.

It is becoming obvious why you were so screwed over BREXIT.... you don't understand PR! The last time it was links from Putin....
I very much doubt that he is happy with any of the Western European leaders right now, but he needs as much helps for his country as he can muster, so he is going to be as diplomatic as he can.
