You can't have a skills shortfall if you don't have any companies left to employ people. Brexit has thought of everything. #smart

And yet the two are supposed to be in entirely different situations - I'm not sure I buy that.

Sometimes I really wonder if UK politicians and journalists bother to read and understand the EU treaties they are committed to! EU immigration offer could lead to Brexit reversal, claims Adonis
Free movement is a treaty requirement and as such even if France and Germany wanted to make such an offer they could not! The best they could do is to undertake to support such a proposal to the member states and hope the 38 parliaments, regional parliaments plus 3 referenda go accordingly..... This would run into the exact same problem as Cameron's original request for exemption from the 'ever clouser union requirement".
Monty python has nothing on these guys!

Dunno if it applies here. But if yes, then just remember, that for example it just takes a moment of hesitation in buying Italian bonds to bring Italy to its knees, so there is a leverage to coerce cooperation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voting...European_Union |

Tony Blair wants tougher immigration rules for EU citizens:
Tony Blair has called on the government to introduce a new UK immigration policy which "reasserts control".

Dunno if it applies | | | | | No it does not, we're talking about a treaty change not a decision of the council! As set out in the treaties, each change must be approved by all members in accordance with their national method.
Refer back to Cameron's original request to opt out of the "ever closer union requirement". All the could offer was to include such a proposal the next time a treaty change would be considered, most likely when a new member loined.
Furthermore the 27 are not likely to risk a division for the sake of a third country no matter how important it may think it is.

It is hardly a surprise that European Commission President Junker has stated today in his "State of the Union" speech, that the UK will soon regret leaving the EU, http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-41252653 |

- EU enlargement to Western Balkans
- Schengen expansion
- Defence union by 2025
- One EU Finance Minister
- One EU president
The Euro will only ever work properly when there is a full political union like in the USA. This is then end game.

Good we got rid of the constant whiner. | | | | | "I want to be dictated to!". You deserve each other. Remind us again how that's working out for your home country?
Ever since the referendum there has been so much whining about "the lies of the Brexiteers that resulted in this mess". Well what about Remain? A renewed insistence to adopt the Euro, no single country vetoes, a deeper union. All these were things that Remainers said would never happen. Well now according to an EU president, they are.

Well now according to an EU president, they are. | | | | | These things are "happening" (your own verb, I am not convinced yet that anybody will force Denmark to adopt the euro) because the UK decided to leave.
The offer to the UK for a permanent opt-out was not a trap to make you stay in and then force to adopt the euro. The EU had decided that for a country like the UK it is worth to offer opt-outs. For Poland or Hungary it is not.
Get a grip on reality please.
If you want to talk about lies told pre-referendum, didn't the Brexiteers warn that Turkey was about to join the EU?
Is this happening maybe?
Want to make a list of pre-referendum lies and check which side lied the most?
So far the only "lie" that you have come up with is that the EU was not going to force the UK to adopt the euro and join Schengen. Guess what, you have no way to prove it, because you voted out.
On the other hand, the Brexit-lies will be exposed one by one as the country lives the EU.
With respect to my home country, I don't live there and I am not affected by the way it is being managed. I offered my opinion on several occasions and was told off as "you don't live here so you don't get a say".
As an EU citizen I am enjoying my life in Germany at the moment. If Germany stops being good for me I can relocate to some other of the 31 EU+EFTA countries.

Didn't Tusk say that Brexit would end Western Civilization?
Others painted hyperbole about locusts and floods. Maybe God doesn't know that Texas isn't part of the UK.
