"The blue and gold passports will be issued from October 2019, when the £490m passport contract begins, to British nationals renewing or applying for a new passport."
YOU ARE FAKE NEWS.

I love how Theresa May and Poland danced over Guy Verhofstadt today. Class act.
I think a lot of this will come out of style and grace, and I don't see indications the EU bureaucrats know how to dance. Theresa May has it. I've seen it in PMQs.
The UK needs more direct diplomatic outreach like this to all Europeans, and continue to bypass and speak over the head of the EU. I suspect they won't know how to handle it and fumble.

The passport design is up for renewal anyway and precosted. Nothing to do with it being Blue. Fake News right back at you.
Stop. Bullshitting.

| | Re: The Brexit referendum thread: potential consequences for GB, EU and the Brits in | Quote: | | | | More lies from David Davis. He said he'd resign if Damian Green was forced out of his position. He hasn't.
So, so far it's just his own career that Damian Green has ruined, single-handedly. | | | | | While we're at it Mr. Fake News, from a gospel source of course:
"The threat by Davis to resign would only come into play were Green to be forced out on the word of the police, according to Davis’s friends. If the Cabinet Office inquiry were to prove that Green had lied, or other misconduct, then Davis accepts May would be entitled to act."

Can anyone remember having a Tory blue passport- found my old old, with the corner cut and cancelled - it is so dark it is almost black. So much for having our passports 'back'.

To be honest it was a bit too bulky to fit neatly in an inside jacket pocket and I was glad when the smaller new version arrived.
I don't think the newer version had as many pages, but by the time it arrived, you no longer got a stamp when crossing EEC/EU borders.

The point about the passport that it is nonsense to say 'we have got our blue passports back' stupid indeed and hardly a flipping priority ... doh.
Got 10 years to go on my current Burgundy coloured UK passport -hurrah.

| | Re: The Brexit referendum thread: potential consequences for GB, EU and the Brits in | Quote: | | | | | That's what's been weird about all Barnier's comments in recent weeks. He's not yet even been given his orders from the EU council over their position for the next round of talks, which he'll have to adhere to. At the moment he's just going off on one. | | | | | The key point which Barnier makes that you and the media seem to have missed is MFN.
The existing contracts follow the so-called Most Favored Nation principle, also known under the English abbreviation MFN ("most favored nation").
It states that benefits received by one EU contractor automatically apply to all others.
So if Brussels were to give the British a special deal on financial services, all the other EU trading partners would be entitled to the same without the EU getting more in return.
"The EU would have to unilaterally open its market much more to existing partners without, in return, gaining better access to their markets," says a Commission expert. "The cost to the EU would be enormous."

And to be honest, I don’t think a blue passport is that important to most brexiteers.

And you'd be wrong... | Quote: | | | | A YouGov survey earlier this year asked people what they would like to change after Brexit, and found that 52 per cent of Leave voters wanted to bring back the dark blue passport, compared with only 16 per cent of those who voted Remain. | | | | | http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...-a8124526.html |

I first went to work in London in 1970 and it took me a while to get used to shillings, and sixpence, pounds and oz, Gallons and, having just passed my driving test, driving on the left and in a large very busy City. When I returned after ma car accident in the Summer of 1971 - had to get used to a new system again (well not driving on the left). 46 years later I still know some people who are unable to cope with grammes and kilos, centimetres and metres (it does make you wonder )
