Lol. https://twitter.com/guyverhofstadt/s...75267111833600
@guyverhofstadt
"There is no EU legislation dictating passport colour. The UK could have had any passport colour it wanted and stay in the EU".
Even funnier:
"The tendering process for printing them is expected to take place under existing EU procurement rules, something that the current British contractor, De La Rue, recently said could mean they were produced abroad."

Currency changed overnight when I was 5, but the measurement systems operated side by side until I was in my 30s.

The quote from Grayling @acgrayling:
You know, there could be a turning point in this passport thing. It is so obviously an unintelligent trivial ploy based on striving for something - anything! 'good' to say about Brexit, that it must at last be pulling scales off eyes all over Leave voting areas.

Just for a start, like.
What's it to you, anyway?

What happens in my home country matters in a way it probably doesn't to foreigners - or paper Brits with a collection of passports to choose from.

Yes, it does matter what happens back in the UK for us too.

Fair enough- it certainly matters to us, because our adult children and our grand-children still live there- and famiy and friends. And we may well return one day when we are too old to travel- we have always kept one foot and part of our heart there- and we have no Swiss salary or pension either. You've always made it plain that Blighty was not for you any longer...Our chidren and grand-children are lucky, as you say, to have access to Swiss and Irish passports- but England is their home and, for the moment, their life and their livelyhood.
Which is why we firmly voted REMAIN - as did all our family and friends bar one (the one who reads the Daily Mail of course).
You will soon have access to Swiss nationality won't you- and possibly American too.

| | Re: The Brexit referendum thread: potential consequences for GB, EU and the Brits in | Quote: | | | | | Point is negotiating with the EU is a dead end, and it doesn't hurt them for the UK and EU economies to tank. UK might as well negotiate with Germany directly, as it will come to that end eventually anyway. | | | | | You guys have no idea what you are talking about.
Germany would never do that. They are obsessed with political correctness and sticking to the rules.
France would love to do that, they like pretending they are running the EU alongside Germany.

I love how Theresa May and Poland danced over Guy Verhofstadt today. Class act.
I think a lot of this will come out of style and grace, and I don't see indications the EU bureaucrats know how to dance. Theresa May has it. I've seen it in PMQs.
The UK needs more direct diplomatic outreach like this to all Europeans, and continue to bypass and speak over the head of the EU. I suspect they won't know how to handle it and fumble. | | | | | The EU needs to get rid of Poland.
If you guys manage to convince them to follow your out the door, you will have done us a great favour.
Poland has an immensely important role to play as a US-dependent buffer state between the continental EU and Russia.
