I see HMG and Whitehall have surpassed themselves in their 'No deal' hard Brexit
planning with Cold War bunkers coming out of moth balls, transition to war plans
and the emergency powers act being readied in the event of No deal Brexit
riots and a possible Brexit rebellion in London.

The Queen and other members of the Royal Family as well as the British
Cabinet and senior government ministers will be evacuated to Turnstile, Burlington
or whatever code name is appropriate for the secret government bunker from
where Theresa May hopes to deliver her final Hard Brexit plans to the rest
of the country, courtesy of the BBC's wartime broadcasting service.

Sunday Express - Revealed Secret plan to evacuate the Queen if no deal Brexit sparks London Riots

All I can say is I'm glad I held onto to my parents copy of the 1980's HMSO
publication of Protect & Survive.

Further to the tale of woe being prepared by May's Brexiteer government above. I see many Civil Servants in Britain
haven't a clue which way to turn on Brexit and therefore scores of plans are getting left on hold, while finding themselves
and their departments, sleep walking down a Brexit cul-de-sac.

The Guardian - A hidden government is preparing for Brexit by keeping us in the dark

What does it actually imply? That Tusk is more capable than Boris Johnson? Ot that Boris Johnson is incapable? Or that a leader with a non-elitist background is the better politician?

It implies that a free-market right-winger who supports Viktor Orban and opposes abortion on demand and euthanasia is ok, just as long as he's rude about Brexit.

I used to clean toilets for a living. It doesn't make me a working class hero any more than painting chimneys means Mr Tusk isn't a Tory in all but name.

Well, if he was stupid enough to be a Tory under a communist government, what did he expect?

The question is if it would make him a good leader that can handle the real challenges in life.

They'll just label this Project Fear and move on.

It's ironic how places like Sunderland will be hit so hard they won't know what hit them, yet they are the most vocal for Leave.

Everyone believes a deal will be reached, what most don't realize is there is already a big financial impact from lost jobs and investment. Question is will it only be a small bruise if a deal is reached or a tumor in case of a No Deal?

I'm no Tory. I'm not even a conservative any more. And I wasn't referring to TobiasM.

Do keep up.

Interpretation is in the eyes of the beholder...

and you have always proudly said that your are a conservative- or a Tory.

Were you one when you voted for Brexit? And what are you now?

Of course, you don't need to answer. I myself feel politically homeless at the moment.
