Not sure if this is true though.

What strikes me as something curious is the lack of discussions about Middle Eastern Christians. These populations have been decimated and rarely, if ever, someone mentions this. Where are they? How many of them have made it to Europe? Are there any left back there? Total silence on these issues.
Also a lot of Coptic Christian persecution in Egypt but also little news about that. The Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria is the largest Christian Church in the Middle East overall. According to tradition, the Church was established by Saint Mark, an apostle and evangelist, in the middle of the 1st century (approximately AD 42).

I suggest you read this for an overview of Christian persecution in the ME (and elsewhere).

Edit;- from the article "there were more recorded killings of Christians due to their faith in northern Nigeria in 2015 than in the rest of the world put together"

At one time there was a lot of coverage of the persecution of the Yazidis (The Yazidis are monotheist believing in God as creator of the world, which he has placed under the care of seven holy beings or angels, the chief of whom is Melek Taus, the Peacock Angel.)

25 000 refugees accepted by Canada is old news, I meant if there is any data on their religion. As I said, the focus seemed to be on women, children and families as opposed to unaccompanied males, nothing about religion or ethnic group, maybe nationality which is not the same thing.
No, no. Religion and ethnic groups are also mentioned. Majority is from minorities and also included Muslim families.

If you can, watch 'Inside Europe's Terrorist Attacks' which was shown on the BBC last night.
Thx for the headsup. In case anybody else is interested it's also available on youtube, e.g. here.

Huge police operation now going on in Schaerbeek. My friend who lives near Place Meiser says she's heard explosions and the whole area is in lockdown.

Thank you for finding a youtube link. I recorded it and will be watching for the third time today as more and more of the people named in the programme are also being named in the events of last night and today.

One man arrested ( injured) and a bag containing an explosive device detonated. He's believed to have been involved in Tuesday's attacks.
Police confirm that the operation was linked to the one in Argenteuil (France) earlier today.
The lockdown is still in place.

The guy arrested in Argenteuil, northern Paris :

Reda Kriket, a terrorist close to Abdelhamid Abaaoud. The guy killed in St Denis (notorious for IS footage of him driving a car dragging bodies behind it).

Preparing to launch another attack in Paris. Weapons and explosives found (TATP).

you mention big brother, it really is orwellian that guy got arrested. talk about terrorism. sure hes an idiot but its just a dumb tweet. in the netherlands, after brussels attack, some high school teacher tweeted the question "how do you continue class if the muslim children are cheering and applauding?". the thinkpol came and visited him asking him to not post things like that in the future. this was before it turned out that he was not a teacher but had read on social media that muslim schoolkids were cheering and hoping for a high death toll. the tweet itself is still a valid thought/question tho.

this goodthink/crimethink bullshit is the real danger. it prevents us from doing something about the terrorism and has shaped the highly polarized society we currently live in over the last two decades. 140 chars at a time.
He's been remanded in custody. Good to know who the UK police see as the real threat.

Unless he pleads guilty before the magistrates, they'll have to let him go. He threatened no one. It wasn't inciting racial hatred. It was merely a daft tweet for which the police are punishing him for. Orwellian indeed.

Yes, but the police investigation discovered he was preparing more inappropriate Tweets on his computer along with some disparaging Facebook memes. There are several accomplices along with the ring-leader still at large. Please keep your eyes open and lets hope no other offensive on-line posts happen meanwhile. My thoughts and prayers to those who have already been offended

Tweets like that can start a riot and get embassy staff killed.

Turkish claims that EU were exporting (not deporting) their problems

Quote "The EU failures were outlined by Turkish officials to the Guardian through several documented instances of foreign fighters leaving Europe while travelling on passports registered on Interpol watchlists, arriving from European airports with luggage containing weapons and ammunition, and being freed after being deported from Turkey despite warnings that they have links to foreign fighter networks.

“We were suspicious that the reason they want these people to come is because they don’t want them in their own countries,” a senior Turkish security official told the Guardian. “I think they were so lazy and so unprepared and they kept postponing looking into this until it became chronic.”"

If Europe can't pull his sh*t together, they should just close all borders. check everyone and have one single database for the whole Europe.

It's easy to put their lack of control and interest on Turkey.

Are we talking about the same Tweet about "Muslim children clapping" when the Airport blew up? That's sounds like a lie and propaganda to vilify Muslims. How is it called when it's in the opposite direction, eg. when Köln police tried to hide the NYE attacks from the public to "protect" Muslims? In both cases it was lies to promote an agenda (altho I don't think any Köln police were arrested for lying?). The truth comes out eventually.

The article said very little and nobody has been convicted. If someone's fighting about a bus seat and a racial/ethnic slur is used, then it's suddenly a "hate crime". But I understand your point, if Europeans start killing random Muslims in retribution, then they have become exactly the same as the terrorists they condemn. Fortunately that's not happening (yet). So far people seem to be doing it the democratic way and voting for politicians who promise to make the changes they feel needed (eg. rise of right-wing parties like AfD in Germany)

Except they never do.

Anyhow, the charges have now been dropped. The utter f$$king incompetence of the Met police is incredible. He should sue for a big settlement.
