You miss the point totally. Most, perhaps all, killers and terrorists have mental issues. They are not all given fair trial - that is the point- depending on colour, ethnicity, and religion. Ask Trump.

Same for rape. White middle class, 6 months as was stressed by exams and has suffered enough. Black and you get 30 years. you know that.
No I don't know that, and it's not true either. Prove that white people in the UK get preferential treatment and I might pay attention.

And besides, does that mean this guy doesn't deserve a fair trial?

There's something quite vomit inducing watching MPs crawling over each other to be the most distraught yet eloquent. Virtually all of them would quite happily have crushed her career if it meant advancing their own. This is modern politics.
Can you cite a couple of the worst offenders?

I have heard and watched a few MPs comments on the BBC who were established friends of Jo Cox from before and after she started as an MP last year.
I have also noted some MPs on shows mentioning Jo Cox when asked whilst they were already on a (BBC) show about another matter.
But I have not heard or seen anyone thrust themselves forward in the manner you have described.

Maybe you watched something vomit inducing on a different channel that I missed.

It might be comforting for you to think that, but for the moment we have no reason to believe it. Some of them are sick, indeed, but if your theory was true then all the (German for instance) nazis were mentally ill.
I think a certain social atmosphere (see the one during the '30s in continental Europe) and certain ideas can make sufficient people...ill.

In my opinion, there's not much difference between Mateen and the other one. Both were influenced by extremist groups, even if they might have had some preexistent issues.

Do you think Cameron and Gideon cared about her?

Put into perspective, Parliament wasn't recalled after the Brighton bombing. This was modern grief whoring and nothing else.

Intellectually dishonest.

Parliament wasn't recalled in 1984 because Summer recess was ending 10 days later anyway, and it would have been innappropriate to recall parliament when people were still fighting for their lives.

The guy was medically not right. He woke up with a stomach bug. Let him go to hospital and be properly assessed.

I agree, Given the right (wrong!) circumstances most people, I think, would be capable of heinous evil. Committing terrible crimes is not without its cost, and I can see how it could be mentally damaging to the perpetrator. At some point most people who've committed terrible crimes have had the opportunity to turn back - and chose not to. Their sickness doesn't nullify their culpability.

Or perhaps everyone is good, we just do bad things. But we are good.

Inappropriate? Then why wasn't it inappropriate to carry on punctually with the party conference the following day when people were fighting for the lives?

And what about Airey Neave? There was no public group hug after he got blown to bits.

I think the main set of people that need to go to hospital right now will be the ones in the wide vicinity which may be hit by all the dolls coming out of your pram.

If you include a predisposition to anger and violence as a mental issue, drug and alcohol abuse then yes, perhaps. Pretty much everyone has mental issues.

People with mental illnesses are far more likely to be victims than perpetrators of violent acts.

No argument with the racial issue, however.

I agree. People take civilisation for granted but "civilisation" has such a thin veneer...

Re: Jo Cox MP dead after shooting attack

Her husband came out and gave an interview yesterday. I realise that he's a grieving man, but I couldn't help but think this was a bit peculiar, as was the statement released within an hour of Jo Cox's murder.

Giving an interview before a murder trail is risky due to UK contempt of court laws. Also, he was clearly politicising what happened. I wonder if he'll be running for her seat.

Thats pretty low Loz, and 'No', he's already stated that he wants to see her seat go to another female MP.

It's a legitimate question, most families ask for privacy to grieve in such times.
