Re: What is happening in Turkey tonight?

An Austrian satirical newspaper has an article about Erdogan recalling 50,000 Kebab sellers back to Turkey as part of the new spat between Turkey and Austria!
Link (German language).

Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz in response threatens to allow three million party-minded graduate students to enter Turkey. "They are already on the frontier, waiting for the marching order!"

Re: What is happening in Turkey tonight?

Another bombing in Turkey today despite over 500 arrested since the Istanbul bombing last week minimum of 13 killed; I make this 32 bombings in the last year and a half!
Source

Today İstanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office issued detention warrants on Friday for 523 military members from the Turkish Armed Forces, including high-ranking officers.
Source This web site tracks Turkish detentions, arrests and other suppression activities.

Finally an interesting article about how populism has replaced journalism in turkey Link

UPDATE: Russian agencies confirming his death. There is an actual footage of the attack but I prefer not to post it.

Re: What is happening in Turkey tonight?

As per the reports the attacker shouted "(shouts in arabic)...(in turkish)remember haleppo, remember syria...as long as our towns are not safe you will not be safe..(go back go back, only death can take me out of here)...everyone who has a share in this cruelty will pay for it one by one"

Re: What is happening in Turkey tonight?

This could be Turkey showing their hand. Erdogan is an Ottoman and the fighting in Syria is moving to land he considers to be Turkish. He *could* be about to make a land grab.

NATO needs to stay the hell out of this clusterfunk.

The attacker seems to be a Turkish police officer (link in Turkish but shows the officer's personal record)

I doubt the sultan is directly involved but he has opened the gates to radical animals and illegal actions as long as they served his purpose.. now it s out of control

Nothing is clear at the moment, and that's the problem. Even the coup could have all been set up. But when the third largest political party's offices are hit in coordinated attacks across the country, as happened two nights ago, you know we are dealing with with something serious.

I say it since the day number 1, it is a staged coup! I have high suspicions on this one too.

Would have been one if either Erodgan or Putin was attacked.

I hate Erdogan but I dont see how he benefits from this event.

How has he benefited from antagonising the EU, Israel, Russia, Kurds, German comedians...? But he still does it.

Got to feel for the half of the country that also want him gone. Life could be about to get very difficult for them.

Occam's Razor, it could be as simple as it looks. A man outraged by what he perceives to be Russian War Crimes in Aleppo.
