Turkey and Russia getting closer

the Meeting of Messrs Erdogan and Putin is an interesting Signal. There was already a close partnership between Mustafa Kemal Pasha and Wladimir Ulyanow in the 1920ies which allowed Turkey to win against Greece and to regain Kylikia

at the Meeting in St.Petersburg today a Revival of trade relations was agreed

Re: Turkey and Russia getting closer

I'm not sure of how much relevance this really is. The two went from at least reasonably positive before the fighter plane got shot down to very hostile to very friendly. That can easily change again, essentially on a whim.

Re: Turkey and Russia getting closer

Neither country has any money so I assume the relationship will consist of friendly words rather than starting to build the Turkish gas pipeline again.

I foresee Turkey buying much more gas from Israel despite their religious differences

exactly as Russia and Tuekey need monry is why they have to go ahead with co-operation matters and bill the western cudtomers -- Erdogan already mentoned the gas Pipeline as a priority Project

and a deep co-operation with Turkey will pave the way for an improved linkage of Russia with Egypt. TK however will clearly stay in NATO
