Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump is trying to demonstrate his leadership in severe weather events by retweeting reports from the National Hurricane Center.

Sadly he does not engage his brain (assuming he has one! ) so we get gems like this
Quote:
Donald J. Trump Retweeted

National Hurricane Center
@NHC_AtlanticRT @NHC_Atlantic
: Tropical Depression Eight has developed over the eastern tropical Atlantic. The depression is forecast to become a tropic…
This depression is around 3,000 miles from the US!
His tweet even includes a map!!

Poor old confused guy had to correct a tweet address again

After copying a statement of support that ran to three tweets finishing with

He had to correct Sam Zell @joekernencnbc to Sam Zell @JoeSquawk.

Third such correction in three days
Who knows what a mess he makes of his official documents.
Well, that's what he has a PA for isn't it. Oh.... wait.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Surely they will not do this to a Trump supporter on Fox news.
Quote:
Fox News host Jeanine Pirro acknowledged her suspension by the network earlier this year and said she is worried she could be fired during a hot mic moment Tuesday on Sebastian Gorka's radio program.

Pirro hosts the highly rated “Justice with Judge Jeanine” on Saturday nights,
Silly girl made these comments during a commercial break when her microphone was still "hot"; professionals should know better?

The president of the Nebraska Farmers Union ripped President Trump on Wednesday over his escalating trade war with China, calling it a “huge unforced error.”

“The U.S. should have isolated China from the rest of the world as they started on this effort,” Hansen told Hill.TV. “Instead, unfortunately, the president has isolated the U.S. from most of the rest of the world economy.”

Quote:
President Trump on Wednesday denied any involvement in Vice President Pence's decision to stay at the president's property in Doonbeg, Ireland, during an official visit to the nation, as Democrats and watchdogs expressed outrage.
Pence’s chief of staff, Marc Short, had said that President Trump didn’t ask Pence to stay at his property, but suggested it!

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Not funny any more!
Quote:
President Donald Trump showed a map of Hurricane Dorian's trajectory in the Oval Office on Wednesday afternoon that appeared to include an addition showing the storm potentially affecting a large section of Alabama.

Trump claimed the map was the original forecast. But a similar image released by the White House last week did not include any impact on Alabama in its forecast.

"That was the original chart, and you see it was going to hit not only Florida but Georgia," Trump claimed Wednesday during a briefing, while showing a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration map with a black line encircling a portion of Alabama.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump is still seeking evermore fanciful excuses for claiming on Sept. 1. Alabama would be hit hard by Hurricane Dorian.

Sunday, September 1, 10:51 AM: Trump starts the controversy with a tweet. "........... Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated,"

20 minutes later (Sunday, September 1, 11:11 AM) the US National Weather Service tweets that Alabama will not be affected by the storm: "Alabama will NOT see any impacts from #Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane #Dorian will be felt across Alabama. The system will remain too far east."

If Trump had any sense he would shut up about this topic.

Trump doesn't have any sense, how many times does he have to prove this ?

Amazing that he could redirect a hurricane within 20 minutes and save the country. Residents of Alabama are probably graceful.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump still tweeting about Hurricane Dorian and Alabama

Now the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released a Trump supporting statement statement on their web site
"The Birmingham National Weather Service’s Sunday morning tweet spoke in absolute terms that were inconsistent with probabilities from the best forecast products available at the time."

Source

Unlike other news statements on this site no media contact name was provided so it is an anonymous statement.

The former chief operating officer of the NOAA tweeted
Quote:
Perhaps the darkest day ever for @noaa leadership.
Don’t know how they will ever look their workforce in the eye again.
Moral cowardice.

— David Titley (@dwtitley) September 6, 2019
Even this excuse from the NOAA does not support Trump's claim "Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder".
They provided a link that shows their forecast hours before Trump's tweet that there was a very slight possibility of a tiny corner of Alabama seeing winds of 36+ mph.

That doesn't sound forced, reluctant or insincere at all!

(What does that weasel word salad actually mean, anyway?)
